Only 100 people need to buy the ten dollar commanders? Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. *shrugs*

Assuming its 1/5 that, it only takes 1000. If 1/10, its 2000. Still very possible numbers, if given enough time. won't happen instantly as it isn't exclusive. Also isn't AS appealing. But I would think one would get at least half their money guranteed, and anything is something.

You guys aren't really looking at it from the same perspective as I am, or rather, you're focusing on the wrong part of the problem.

While the idea that it does take 800 purchases to "make back" your investment on a 5$ commander the real problem is that you're also competing against every other Custom Commander as well, so far there are 18 Commanders for sale, meaning a total of a max(as some are more expensive) of 14,400 purchases that are evenly spread across all the commanders.

But they won't be evenly spread out, because the commanders are just visual it's completely subjective in regards to how appealing your commander is to potential consumers. You might love the look of your commander but that doesn't mean anything in regards to it's potential sales.

Not to mention the idea that PA's "climate" is completely different when the first 6 came out compared to when they starting working on Custom Commanders again and it's even still different compared to now. Those first 6 had the best chances, everyone else basically got shafted.

I wouldn't be so quick to say "shafted" because you have no usage statistics to support those claims.

Why not just leave this as the goodbye you wanted it to be? You already said you don't want to get into it (again) :/

I think it's still fair to say specifically in the context of seeing a profit in your 1000$ pledge. No one else is getting 3 months of exclusivity after all.

If there aren't any usage stats to support my claims, it's the same for any claim really. I still feel given things like the Polygon article and the lack of any "follow-up" or other related commentary from Uber works toward this as well.

I'll admit it's a pile of circumstantial evidence but that's all anyone has you know?

Must be a bit of a last hurrah, I've always really enjoyed the dicussions and so far this thread has been a better experience than what I've had/seen in PAGD for a couple of months now at least so I guess I just want to milk it for what it's worth! xD

I feel you Mike. It's been fun being here with you, but i'm also feeling the loosening gravitational pull. I know we all had some good times with PA but I can't really bring myself to get back into it after each new patch, and it just feels done for me. That coupled with how small and quiet the community has become and I find myself wondering why this has become the first website I compulsively check numerous times a day. Work also got crazy for me recently and I think it's probably best if I focus on that. So just wanted to say I totally understand your feelings, and will also likely be heading my own way. And I don't have any bitter feelings at all. Hope wherever you go, there you are!

nothing lasts forever ... still disapointing on how things went down with some people on the forum ...


regarding the commander:
honestly if you backed the game with the thought on getting your money back i think you made a bad decision from the get go ... that commandertier was more like having what is basicly your mark you either keep to yourself or share with others ... i consider the moneypart rather as a bonus
