So this weekend I'm having a little party because it's my birthday on the 2nd. I'm having a few friends come over to watch a movie, a ****-ton of Nandos and a deluxe chocolate mousse cake (yeah that's right, deluxe!) I was planning on putting on Star Wars (ep. IV) because one of my friends has never seen Star Wars. I desperately want to correct this travesty but the problem is my last two parties also involved watching Star Wars IV/V (incidentally due to one of my other friends not having seen Star Wars. The friend in question this time was unable to attend the last two Star Wars screenings). So now I need another movie. Obvious next choice would be Indiana Jones but he's already seen them! WHAT DO I DO!? Something fun and lighthearted, that adventurery vibe you get from Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Right now I'm thinking Galaxy Quest but does anyone have a better idea?
You mean Serenity or the actual show? Because the movie made me "Holy crap that's pretty dark!", which is what I'm trying to avoid.
Showing Serenity to someone who hasn't seen the series should be a capital offence. (I kid, I kid!). The series is lighter than the movie. Have you not seen it?
Ehhhhhhhhh. Everyone has seen those and I can't think of which my friends and I would put up with. Galaxy Quest is better.
So why are you still on this forum? You very clearly have better things to be doing watching! but seriously, you should be watching it asap.
That's like having somebody watch Star Wars Episode 3 without them having see 4-6. Massive spoilers on top of a complete misrepresentation of mood. Dark Crystal, Princess Bride, Any Jackie Chan Movie, Old Bond.
@Geers Jupiter Ascending if the DVD is out otherwise defer to this https://forums.uberent.com/threads/movies.67742/
Old Bond eh? Excellent choice. Haven't seen Dark Crystal, kinda been wanting to. Seen Princess Bride, fun movie. Will think about that too. The real question is, which old Bond?
How about 'Super 8'? And I know it's a bit off the suggested theme, but the 'The Woman In Black' is great fun to watch with friends, and I loved that recent Dredd film.
Great ideas! Super 8 is a pretty meh movie. Definitely not entertaining. The other two don't have the right vibe.
