My pc is a windows 8 version and I got 8 gb of ram in my pc but when i was playing, windows shut down my program and tells me that PA is uising too much ram. And it is very annoying to have a problem like this. Are there any solution for that or anyone who is suffering from the same problem ?

it doesn't shut the game down, it tells you ram is getting low and asks you if you want to turn off aero

Are you on 32 bit or 64 bit windows? If you're on 32 bit, it may be that you're hitting a ceiling not present with the 64 bit version.

    I don't think windows 8 has a 32 bit version, does it?

that probably means you are using a part of your 8GB ram for that intel graphics chip?

Yeah it's a common issue with Intel video cards. It doesn't really have dedicated vram and instead shares with memory I believe. I suggest getting a dedicated video card.

    It does.

That's what I was saying. You can have 8GiB of ram with a 32 bit os installed, but there may be some limitations like the amount a single program can use at once, or a global cap, or something else.

But this is all off topic as roachyim has 64 bit ;)

What do you mean with "windows shut down my program"---if you are having any unnecessary programs still open when you start PA you simply shouldn´t do so!

I used windows 7 (which has worse memory allocation than windows 8 by a teeny bit) and Intel HD card, aaaand only 4GB of RAM and never had this problem. I did with Minecraft though back in beta. =P

I used to run it with 4 too, it worked fine - then I bought 8 more for a computer I never built, so I just slapped them in this machine and got 12

You guys are crazy with your intel HD card. Would getting a dedicated card would break the bank too much? The 960 gt is a pretty good deal right now for $200 if you are strapped for cash.
