TA ARM vs CORE debate, settled here.

Uh we didn't as we've just been playing a few 1 v 1 / ffa games

Actually it's getting pretty late here in the UK for me, so I won't play any more, still stuart and co should still be about so jump on anyway

Every good ta player knows... ARM>>>CORE. The Peewee is actually not the problem though. Flash and samson are. And in late game hawks. I personally actually suck at OTA but i am up for some games. Just msg me on GR. My acc name is TaShadan

So why is core currently winning? hawks are strong at t2, I'll give you that much, although core t2 ground is good, and also remember core has storms which are cheaper and stronger than the roko. At t1 I'd argue it's close enough to not be an issue, though maybe arm is a tad stronger on very small maps....

Core can Vamp or Rapier. Not as good as hawks, but still good enough to be useful.

Samson is a mallus to arm because it's not as good as the Slasher.

Flash is much better than gators, but that can be worked around by a good player.

Core has Shadows. 'Nuff said.

Because the Flash, Hawk and Bertha were bigger advantages than any of the pluses Core had.

No offense but who is your opponent? If 2 players with similar skill are playing each other ARM will win most games.

Again not my experience I played ta online competitively for PRO for years, I was used to playing decent opponents. The advantage arm has is very overstated imo, most prefer arm and as such assume it's better.

I was a top german broodwar player (german nationalteam) from 2002-2005. This does not mean that i still be able to compete with high class players of the current days. I doubt i would have been able to beat top players of 2008.
1. i am playing worse
2. the metagame and maps changed
3. the skill increased overall
so you being a PRO in the past does not mean anything.

PS: if you want to play vs people with higher TA skill you have to post on tauniverse. I doubt you will find someone here. As i said i suck at OTA i am good at TA Zero though.

Lol... ta really isn't played much any more, and development stopped years ago. I played it at its peak, and only stopped when basically there were no more players.

It's a very different situation to an active game. After ta I moved to spring playing the xta and balanced annihilation mods (which I still play) so I never really stopped.

The point is, you're assuming arm is better, I agree very late game the combination of hawk and farks is a bit op, but early game? Flash / pw are an advantage on very small maps maybe.

I see. I guess you should play vs pro_randy, n1_RVD or ACE_Jackson then. As far as i know at least Jackson is still around. If you never stopped playing there is no use in bashing noobs and mediocre players to prove that CORE is viable.
