Yeah, very specific, included many details, most constructive, will try to fix as you suggested. /sarcasm

I don't think walls are a problem, I just think they can be made more interesting, with respect to risk reward. Hence energy drain or specific seige busting units.

You're trying to add a role that doesn't need to exist. Why be punished for not maintaining your power when it already screws up your unit production? You might as well make it where going into negative power turns off your commander and all your factories if thats how you feel it should work.

I gave another idea in a separate post...

"Or alternatively we make walls have a reasonable energy drain but highest priority for energy draw. That means walls are always on and they have a constant affect on your build power, more walls (defense) means less energy for fabrication (building offense). Obviously if you don't have enough power even for your walls, then the walls start switching off automatically, but you would have to be pretty low on power and therefore your base already decimated by the enemy for this to actually happen."

It makes sense that a energy shield would require energy? Maybe factories shouldn't require energy either? I would think shields requiring energy makes a lot more sense than the Holkins requiring energy.

With all the discussion about walls needing energy costs, maybe they should go back to the old model... They're not shields, just walls guys...

except your own units can shoot through them, so they're basically shields >_>

Yeah but they didn't look like they could because they were walls, which is why they changed them to look like shields that you could shoot through but the enemy couldn't because they were shields that you could shoot through but the enemy couldn't

I know I was making that joke mered, but now it's old. Otherwise we will actually get shields, and no one in their right mind wants that...

And this is exactly what I was talking about. They're just walls. They're not shields.

Shield walls are highly efficient and draw all the energy they need to function from a tiny geothermal vent built beneath them.

Don't you guys know anything? ;)

How about this for an idea....

    2 types of wall!

Old wall model cost a fair bit of metal but blocks shots in both directions. Turrets and grenadiers can shot over of course.

New "shield" wall is cheap but has a small energy upkeep. It only blocks enemy shots.

Possible one could be T2 but only if the jump to T2 issue is resolved.

Again: They are shield walls, not wall shields.

Thus, they act exactly like Human walls do from Grey Goo.

    Google it.

    And realize, not exactly.
    But the point still stands.

I'm sorry but light is energy and these walls give off light so the energy has to come from somewhere.
