20+ player FFA on friday - All invited!

err there is a "down" report for pastats.com from tonight. It's current stats look rather... did you kill it by sending too much data into a single game? xD

First game was slow due to recon slowing the SIM (as so many teams). Reducing the number of teams (as opposed to players) allowed the game to cope much better. The 6 teams of 5, com box and big 18 v 18 both maintained SIM speed pretty well

That reminds me, I wanted to save a massive thanks to @Korus and @zihuatanejo for all the work they did in actually getting the servers up and running. They both stepped in at the last minute when I started to panic after realising that it wasn't going to be as simple as using a remote desktop to drag and drop some files around and worked around Quitch's typing errors in the guide to setting these servers, installed mods to give us the colours we needed, and generally were awesome.

If it wasn't for them last night simply wouldn't have happened. Thanks so much fellas!

After that 40+ players GGS I think GGS is a great mode to try in the next big games as well. It actually works at a nice sim speed.

The modded "comm boxing" was by far the most fun IMO, it's the way to go with that many players.

Thanks for the replay man, had to leave just before it starts, and holly ****, This massive 18 commanders assault is just so fun !!! Also quite impressed by the sim ability to handle the workload. Well of course not that much units overall, but it does the job

That was a strange game, lots of people said it wasn't lagging at all. For me every time a group of dox started to fire the whole game froze up completely. Though it was only while the dox were firing so maybe it's some issue with my computer.
