More than 10 player A.I. Games

    Does Uber plan on adding the ability to have games versus AI opponents that are greater than 10 players? 35 player FFA vs bots would be amazing.

    How? Lobby restricts to 10 players.

    The lobby can be modded. However, the real problem is that each player (or AI) that you add make the game more performance intensive. If you had a really powerful server you could do this right now.

    realistically no CPU exists on earth that can do that though. At least none I could rent. Looking forward to those optimizations that sorian spoke of.

    Anyway you can modify your local server easily (edit /media/server-script/states/lobby.js around line 45 change var MAX_PLAYERS = 10; to whatever you want) and install "unlimited players" in pamm with removes the limit in the lobby. Then make a local game and torture your own computer all you want.

    Masterdigital, does uber have any plans on upgrading their server's performance/capacity to allow this kind of game to be possible?

    @sorian spoke of performance optimizations he was working on in the clanwars twitch chat. So they do have performance on the agenda, which is the one issue that makes those big games so troublesome.

    com boxing would probably work fine I think. The number of players doesn't matter much (if your server sits in a datacenter with 1GB network), the number of units does.

    I think bandwidth wouldn't be real issue for the game with like 200 units even if there will be 100 players.

    Erm actually, if the servers can't handle 300 dox patrol, then they wont be able to handle more than 10 AI.

    Play Fab doesn't have supercomputers.

    I was exaggerating, but really the servers die when you patrol lots of dox. In fact, go try to patrol 300 on a medium sized planet and see how laggy the game becomes.
