Hello, for the past few days PA has been crashing randomly in game. Either I am switching from planet to planet, or launching nukes, or even just sitting and watching a battle. I only play single player Galactic War mode so I have not tested this on any other play style.

The crashes seem to also only happen when multiple planets are present in the system and happen past the 30 minute mark. I have tried to validate files in Steam and it does not make a difference.

I have uploaded Dxdiag and my crash dump as well.

    sendspace filegroup %2BPuxg5iglYuAcHOGRzu6VZXz8lJ4sKVG
(Removed http www and dot coms so I can post)

Here is the sendspace with the crash dumps as well as the older dump checkpoint.cpk file with the previous crashes in them. I have also uploaded the .txt files through Attached Files for this post as well.

Huh, another one of those parallel_for crashes, judging from your crash log. (See here)
So it may just be a bug in PA (which they are working on).

However, in your DxDiag.txt the NVidia card appears twice. Do you have two graphics cards that you use with SLI by any chance? If so, could you turn that off and see if it still crashes?

Yes I do use SLI, but I disable it for PA since I know that PA has issues with SLI comparability ATM. I mainly use SLI for my larger games or video processing that I do for University work(Which im leaving now for). It's not to much of an issue, close FF, apply settings, restart FF and than launch PA. Takes like 15 seconds max.

EDIT: If it helps at all, I use the lowest graphic settings and I also have textures at Native. I am running 1980x1600.

It's me again. Uploading a bunch of new crash logs from today as well as from the past 3 days.

All the logs are from 1/30/2015 until today at 9:42 PM EST when my most recent crash happened. Crashes are random and could involved me loading into a game against a bot, or switching planets, or even most recently, doing nothing at all and simply watching my bots build. DXdiag is the same from the previous one uploaded (4 day difference). No recent driver updates, re-validated my game VIA Steam, all files found. Internets connection is fine, SLI is disabled for play, settings are all on LOW and have not changed since first post.

If you require any more info please let me know!

Well, something is wrong, though I don't know what. I see a lot of this in your logs:
    Code:
[15:53:15.500] ERROR Could not create node of type: [BAD_DATA] for unit: [/pa/units/land/artillery_long/artillery_long.json.player]
    null

    and also
    Code:
    [20:23:05.921] ERROR GLTexture::updateBits(): Invalid write (234,153 +1x1 to mip size 64x64), ignoring.

That doesn't sound right. Not sure what's causing it though...

Thanks I'm giving it a try right now.

Here is what I did, downloaded, pointed the instal to my current folder in steam, ended up missing 250 MB of "stuff" (Idk whats missing), than verified, got the log file from the Menu setting drop down box (Click name, click log) and here it is.

What was missing-downloading? It verified 1.9 Gb when I installed and downloaded quiet a bit.

I'm not sure if you are supposed to overwrite your Steam files like that. I'd install it in a new directory if I were you. Does it work when you do that?

Also I can't decypher the sendspace like you tried to type there. And you are just one post short of being allowed to post URLs too. You can't use the Upload a File button on this forum to post the log file? (It may need a .txt extension, but just rename it if that's the case)

Ja, the file is 1.59 MB large and cannot be uploaded. sendspace.com/file/07z0vp

That is the content of the log file. I have played a few matches so far and everything is fine! Steam, for some reason, seemed to not update my files even though it said it was all verified and no files needed redownloading.

Maybe check with steam and make sure they have the most current full version of PA?

    PS: The launcher is nice.

Sometimes Steam will deliver the wrong bits (sometimes our launcher would do that to, but the launcher has gotten a lot of attention recently so I trust it more now). Steam definitely has the correct version of our game.

I've noticed the most issues with steam update when the stable build and PTE are the same. It like steam just freaks out. Oh no! I'm supposed to download the PTE version, ah! Its the same as the stable! Freaking out man!

And then steam takes a breath and downloads the files. Glad this is going for you now!

@n00n @blightedmythos , voluse got this fixed eventually by re-verifying the game files a few times until they fully verified. I think there may also have been some driver updates earlier on. The PA.exe has stopped responding that voluse was getting is actually a generic windows error message that just indicates the program crashed and can have a number of root causes. If you've tried everything suggested in this thread and still have the issue, you will probably get faster help if you each post a new thread in the support forum and include your dxdiag files and a few recent crash logs. This will also help folks look at the specific issue each of you are running into.
