    Hello,

I've just launched the most recent version of PA and wanted to create a nice water planet for playing around with the new submarines.
Now I can't seem to edit a lot of things anymore that I could in earlier versions of the game: The mass slider for a planet is grayed out, and when editing the planet in detail, I can't edit any of the generation properties anymore that were very easy to change earlier on: seed, radius, water coverage, etc.

What am I doing wrong? I'd have a hard time imagining that those controls were removed from the game. I just want to make a big water planet to play on...

I couldn't find anything on these issues anywhere here.

    Regards,

    Shrinker

Hi there and welcome to the forums!
Now to your problem: Do you have , by any chance, enabled the advanced editing options? If so, then the basic stuff like seed, height range and so on is disabled.

I don't think I've done anything like that willingly. How would I toggle that setting?

*edit: Oh, now I see it. It gives you a clear warning when you enable the advanced edit mode. This advanced edit mode was the default for the systems I've tried to edit, the systems I've had since before the latest update. That explains it. :-/

    Thank you.

I want to question why it locks those controls, its easy enough to change those things in a pas file with a text editor, so I don't see why it should lock them in the editor.

    Glad I could help! :)

I guess it is because of the feature to edit CSGs. But I don´t know the exact issue that prevents it from editing. A developer might know more here.

Don't worry, @guest1 is working on an even more advanced system editor ui mod, so soon yiu should be able to work on edited planets. :D

I think they disabled it as an easy fix. It used to be possible, but then all your custom placed stuff vanished as soon as you change one of the planets main settings. I hope they fix it some day, but I don't expect it to be soon ;)

I swear I'll have that mod released soon. If I can't get this feature done by the end of the week I'll just put out a WIP with what's done so far.
