I could swear that I remember a 1vs1 in FA on sentry point where I hid a t1 lab behind an enemy hydro power plant and his UEF acu was shooting the power plant, trying to hit my lab. It damaged the hydro plant.
But yeah in general I remember no friendly fire... weird.

RNG is a necessity for simulated accuracy

with the ammount of stuff going on in pa i dont think movementblocking unitwreckage is such a good idea ...
just let 100 dox fight 100 dox you may have up to 200 blocking wreckages immidiatly ... that battlearea turns into a pathing nightmare in seconds ...

Overkill is a very very common thing currently. To prevent wrecks from being insta killed I had to give wrecks a lot more hp than the actual units in mods I made.
So if the wrecks turn into rubble if there is something like 50%+ overkill it'll be all rubble anyway.

no. see here's the thing i'm absolutely categorical about. your commander will have the projectile collide on him in a number of occasions : fire from another commander, any defense turret. other units

the units themselves will take friendly fire if standing in front of the line of fire t3 to t3, support commander to other support commanders

any beam weapon like the mazor

    even GC to GC

so these new facts you've brought to light makes me not say "all units"

however I have seen this in millions of occurrences by now. I know this for absolute certain. there is definitely friendly fire in FA. and i'm not talking about splash where shell actually hit the right target.

i'll have to test this further.

from what I can initially deduce collision is off on friendly structures but not units.

this is new to me i thought collision was on on all friendlies.

fire up FA it'll freshen up your memory.

I'm only talking when the projectile was fired from a friendly your own units. Try it out in game - turn cheats on, spawn units with Alt+F2 and use the attack ground command to fire "through" them. Make sure you shown collision boxes with Ctrl+Shift+Alt+C, as sometimes the collision boxes don't really line up with the unit sizes.

Note: I shouldn't use the term "friendly". It does not apply to allies; these are treated as enemy units for the purpose of collisions. Only projectiles fired from one of your own units will not impact on your own units.

Its a very different thing when we're talking a bit of RNG is in the weapons projectile to have a slightly altered trajectory, and when it's a roll the dice "does it hit, or no?"

finally.... a common ground. :p

as I said I'll have to do further testing but so far i haven't seen one of my own unit collide a projectile with structure or unit that was also of my own.

however team units behave as enemys do for projectile collision.
    this.

on the whole I like this idea:
    squishypon3 and Raevn like this.

Not quite what's being asked, but it would be cool if wrecks had a number of states (maybe just polygon reduction) so they being to become rubble the more damaged the wreck is, but other than that, I quite like the fact that wrecked buildings get in the way.
