Isn't Witcher made by the same company basically that runs gog.com? So the founders of gog.com sell stuff on steam.
I guess gog is evil then?

They're all on GoG even though they're on Steam.

I don't buy games that are sold on Steam
unfortunately, I happened to back this one before it was put on Steam.

I am saying that I only possess games from honorable developers, or from those that predate Steam.

so i take it you deem indy developers, who have no budget to advertise their games what so ever and thus making it available on a large well known portal in order to gain larger exposure to a broader audience, dishonorable?

i sure am not a fan of steam for my own reasons ... but i can see and aprove of developers trying to raise the awareness of their game ... it is either that or going down ... and there is no honor in going down when no one ever has heard of you or your works ...

The term honor seems to be horribly butchered in its use here...

As for Steam being a DRM platform, do you not realize that after launching steam & signing in, you can proceed to go offline AND still play your games?

I do not see how your DRM claim is valid, not at all

except, that PA was one of the most-funded kickstarter projects of all time, and showed no signs of 'going down' before the steam sales.

That statement is so abhorrently ignorant... I don't even know what to say to it.

    STEAM
    IS
    THE DRM
The requirement of the Steam client to download the game in the first place is the devil
point being that the game was already well known and had caused quite a stir in the RTS community before Steam - even before goddamn Alpha or Beta was released.

Ok? DRM... Please refresh my memory on what that acronym stands for and what it fully means?

if you buy it off Steam, it has to be downloaded through Steam, that seems pretty self-explanatory

digital rights management, copy protection in its most basic form, clients like Steam in its most advanced. They basically control how you launch the game & what you do with it after purchase, another example being Origin

Ok, well if you have a problem with that, then I guess that's your issue, for me, it's quite bloody convienient to have all of my games easily accessible from one hub. Not just that, but I'm able to easily coordinate with my friends, through steam noless, and see what games we have in common with a glance

This doesn't really affect me Ya know, but it does affect people who attempt to obtain the game illegally
