Actually, I can't see any of my replays from December 2014, onwards, yet I can see everything prior to November 2014. Anyone else have that problem?

Yes, but jorgenpt is on it.

Edit: meant jorgenpt instead of masterdigital

Having played more I feel the balance changes are really quite good. However most maps are still too small, I think adding a few *big* maps into the pool would spice it up a lot. On most ranked maps you get like 10 minutes average game time currently. That is quite damn short. I'd try to aim for more like 20 minutes per game average.

I think a way to measure what *big" means is the time it takes a dox to move from the spawn of player A to the spawn of player B.
I think meso has one of the larger rush distances, and it still only takes 60 seconds to move across the map with a dox.

On a radius 1000 planet it takes roughly 2 minutes.
With that size people might feel like making proxy bases to attack or use teleporters or similar interesting things.
Or spam air like crazy. Nothing bad about having a map or two for that as well.

Also here is metal planet with holes in it.

It's a fun idea, but I think they are keeping these maps small because official matchmaking needs to not be limited by the PCs players have. You can't play on the ladder if 1/7 games will crash your client.

A radius 1000 planet actually fits in 8GB ram, in my test to measure the 2 minutes I started that metal planet locally, had a ton of my usual applications open as well and still was only at 7.9gb of ram in usage. So a 8GB ram computer would be totally fine, especially if the person is not as wasteful with ram as I am and has not the server running as well.
Even at 4GB ram it might be okayish if you have no background application and a bit of a virtual memory file so the OS can put anything "not PA" into that. Would not be the greatest experience to see the computer tank out when PA closes but 4gb is just not a great experience in general.
Additionally having a simple veto system could help people veto out the planets they don't like/can play.

Could try a moon or some other type of planet that eats not that much ram as well. No need for a 1000 radius planet that is full of trees or similar.

Basically it would be very sad if PA's ladder stays limited like this because some people dare to play on many year old laptops.

    EDIT:
or well go for the extreme solution and scale down all units, vision ranges, weapon ranges, movement speeds, etc by 30% to increase the perceived size of planets without eating as much ram. or do some optimization on the planet generation so it is capable to create big planets that do not eat much ram ;)

It'll only crash for those people who've been dicking around with their page file like they're living in the 90s. This game is revealing just how many people are still doing that silly nonsense.

Seriously? If your game crashes on a 700r planet, you shouldn't be playing PA.

I play on a laptop with 8 GB ram, and I regularly play in systems with 10 players and several 1000 radius planets. It's not a problem.

Many people still only have 4 GB though, and those need to be considered too.

Just keep in mind, that going from 700r to 1000r will roughly double the amount of data you need for a planet. This includes the triangle mesh data and thus the bandwidth requirements on the GPU as well as the navigation data and therefore the bandwidth requirements for the CPU.
Going from 700r to 1400r will quadruple these requirements.

I've got 6GB of DDR3 and I rarely have problems... I just avoid the 10-planet lobbies and everything has always worked out fine for me, so some large-planet ranked systems might be fun!

You are making economy even easier? Wow. I'd much rather see commander resource generation rate decreased and economy made harder. I'll need to see what exactly this brings but it doesn't seem like a right choice to me.

I will never like this implementation of teleporter vs unit cannon. It's boring because you NEED a way to massively move units across the solar system, but the step is the correct direction. Perhaps Astraeuses should be made a lot cheaper so you can mass produce them and then the teleporter doesn't need to be so ridiculously OP. Aldo Please remove them from being buildable by orbital fabbers.

What needs to be done is that advanced combat fabber needs to become more attractive. No one has ever build that and no one ever will if the T1 can do the same job just as adequately. Perhaps have it be able to build units on the fly or build t1 factories?

Also there seems to be some distinct RCBM like chages to tactical missile units :p I approve of course, but why is T2 bomber absent? Honestly why not make it so that T2 bomber automatically enters orbital layer (you'd need to make S-Move automatic) and then have it fire it's tactical missiles?

Where is duat, wasn't that a ranked map as well?

Also I am looking for PTE 1vs1

We couldn't show all available systems in the short list, so we cut some.

You have a fine working scrollbar though.
I think it is far more convenient to have a scrollbar pop up while quick selecting instead of having to actually switch the whole scene. To prevent people from having to scroll down if they want to select a completely different system I'd put the "browse systems..." button on the top of the list.

There is a bug in the PTE (actually I think forever) where you can't retract the social bar when ingame. Once you got it open ingame it'll never close unless you restart pa.

Not at all, those are random crashes I got while playing today. Could not make out anything unusual it just suddenly hangs, does not respond anymore and a few seconds later windows declares PAs death. The first happened the moment the game ended.
The 2nd somewhere at the start of a map on a custom map.
    2nd game: http://pastats.com/replay/1554567785439018623

In both cases my opponent had PA Stats autopausing enabled, so I reconnected to the game and we continued playing.
