Ok, massive amounts of cleanup just happened. I was going to lock the thread, but the bits that aren't bad are actually an interesting discussion, so I'm giving it one more chance.

    Some ground rules:
    • Stay on topic. The popularity of websites and people isn't what's being discussed.
    • Attacking a clan can be just as easily be seen or interpreted as attacking the people in that clan. Consider clans as people for the purposes of the forum rules.
    • And of course, the usual.
A lot got the chop. Some posts lost all context once the inappropriateness was striped away, and some topics were leading in directions that couldn't end well at all. If I've missed anything, use the report function.

Once more, stay on topic or this thread will be locked.

I've spoken to others about building a fantasy team system into exodus, we think that would be cool, but PA playerbase isn't established enough and PA itself isn't mature enough yet... maybe one day ;)

I've an idea for community immersion

Can we get a sticky thread that states only a few things:
    Clan Names and Websites
    Usual active times for clan
Team speak and/or other VoIP channel
    Open/closed for recruitment

Then people can more easily jump into any clan channel that's willing to accommodate them. Community integration encouraged

ok, so this thread is hilarious, calling rlm north korea :D

so your argument for people joining small clans over big clans i can understand.
i get why you feel that way, but the bigger picture is that everyone dosnt join just to play in tournaments.
people join "clans" to play games with people at anytime not just competitively.

with any tornaments teams will always want to put there best players first, that is a matter of game play, everyone plays to win as winning is fun. but if you have a choice of winning or losing what would you pick?

now i have had PA since beta and i admit i personaly have not played it much, and i also have not realy ever been on the PA forums, but i was in the realm before we came to PA. we arnt a clan we are a community, just like a few "Clans" here, we exist outside of this game, so it may seem that we have a 50 man group for clan wars or whatever, but they are people from other games that are like oh id like to play pa, custard is like sure hop in. also our ts is open anytime for people if they wanna jump it to play with us, and we have had that on many a occasion.

now i dont know who the OP is and how he thinks he has a massive understanding of how bigger "clans" run and the enviroment in them, but as mered said, you cant judge a book by its cover, with any time of growth you will get bad apples. and normaly the nicer people arnt as vocal in game, so if you realy have a problem with people, why not hop on there ts and ask to speak to a leader to deal with the problem rather than making a lynch mob thread. it started with a "all big clans are evil join us smaller clans" to a "RLM is EVIL KILLLL THEMMMMM"

now all these opinions are my own and dont represent RLM as a whole. but if you or anyone has any problem with our members or wanna talk about stuff feel free to hop on our ts or grab me or wrongcat on steam and we will try and resolve the situation.

This is a great idea. Do we need a moderator to create this thread? I would provide the information for VoW.

We could also collect for a community TS server (exodus or someone else could make some advertising for it). Uber could even link to it on the forums, showing a preview (our clan has a TS preview on the homepage and it is a great tool to just check if people are online). That way, randoms could easily find groups and with a visible teamspeak there would be a good incentive to just hop in.

Smaller clans could get channels on this TS server, so you could have several clans there. They would be visible and could recruit random players from this global TS server.

(I just use TS as example because I use it and I am no expert with VOIP software).

I think RLM got targeted as the 'biggest' group. The discussion didn't strike me as all that anti RLM though (despite comments from 1 or 2 people), the main crux of the idea is "we want more clans" and I must admit I'm surprised no new groups have emerged recently.

Promethean has gotten bigger, so has BRN, you guys appear to have gone rather quiet however with the huge influx of new players I would have expected a bit more activity (though as pointed out earlier there probably are new groups forming in less visible areas like on Steam and so on).

What if there are these huge clans outside of these forums and we're the tiny ones that nobody knows about? XD

Well there seem to be a few clans floating around in PA that never post on the forum. I've certainly seen a fair number of players with a P-GER tag.

Whether they're really "active" in PA as a clan is hard to tell though.

I have seen the same issue in Compedative Tribes 1,2, and Ascend. it worked it's self out in the end. The large clans ran pro teams and several Comp Teams. Each team having a leader. Pro teams would select from comp teams. The comp teams within the large clans all had their own personalities. It is all good.

Small clans are definitely a goer in The Nosebreakers book.....
Take BRN for example clearly the best clan currently active on the servers at this currant time.
BRN shoots its self in the foot by offering new players to the guild way too much help and advice.
BRN clan/guild members are always trying to rope players into inter clan games
BRN holds its own massively popular internal comps with.. The substantial prize monies.... To be won!
Heck BRN even has its own hugely popular website.
This is an example of a guild that like western nations need definately to be broken up and controlled by The Reserve Bank !
With BRN sucking up all the best players in the world there will be no one left for other guilds/clans to recruit.
BRN will one day absorb the remaining cult players. You shall attend their reeducation coarses and feel happier or sadder for it.
It was once said small clans were for lonely people who struggled with social disorders...
The Nosebreaker resents this He feels small clans will offer a lot of somthing.
But if we dont try it we wont know what that somthing is......
and that The Nosebreakers internet friends, will leave you wondering!

Watch the epic saga of Nosebreaker's conversations with himself and watch in suspense to see which of his posts he approves of...and which he does not.

Observe as the rage of Icycalm gets hotter and hotter...

In the epic film that has critics asking "What was TBSC trying to say?", only one forum member shall escape the hate...

I don't play alongside non-Cult members. I have not played a single such game in my 240 hours with PA since I started playing in August. I don't enjoy playing with strangers in my teams (and I pretty much only play team games). This makes the game feel more personal to me. If we are all friends and buddies and we all play in the same team with each other, some of the "us versus them" atmosphere is lost, and I lose interest in the game. Human beings are hard-wired to draw maximum pleasure from cooperating with friends and attacking strangers: it is part of the tribal mentality that has served mankind so well for countless millennia. Liberals want all of us to be friends now and hold hands and sing kumbaya, but they can't change genetics and brain chemistry, at least not yet, so until that happens your laid back attitude to team composition will not find an advocate in me.

As for my ideas on things being "vitriol", I am sure that's how it looks to many of you guys. But to us, it is YOUR ideas that look like "vitriol". Vitriol of another kind. Boring, lame vitriol of the kind "let's all be friends and play on the same teamspeak". I'd rather not play the game than do that. The existence of strictly different clans and the rivalry between them are part of why I enjoy this game. And having only 6 of them is detrimental to it, which is why I made this thread. To encourage new players to make new clans or join smaller ones by explaining to them the 2 major drawbacks of joining a big clan (see first post in this thread). And despite your best efforts no one has yet countered those points. Not even close.

And PS. the megabase strategy that you say I was "complaining" about is the future of PA. Whoever doesn't understand this doesn't understand strategy.
