Every time I want to launch PA it wants to download 1+ GB update file. Is that normal? I don't remember the Steam version doing this. I was having problems with the Steam version so I followed a suggestion to download the non-steam version instead. Now, I have this download huge update problem. Can anyone offer some insight? - Vince Edit: I went to launch the game after one of these giant updates had downloaded and processed and it proceeded with *another* huge update?!? What gives?
It just seems to do that for some reason. The workaround is to make a shortcut to x64\PA.exe directly and only use the UberLauncher when there are updates available. The PA client will tell you if that's the case. I'm not sure if it's really downloading or just reusing the cached files though, but in either case, it's rather annoying.
Steam only downloads me 25 to 30mb or so every update, so once or twice a month. 1gb every time you launch is not normal for sure.
DbyD, I tried the shortcut. It went straight to the game, but then it gave me a login error with my Uber ID user/pass.
Strange. That's the same user/pass you use for the forums and UberLauncher, right? What was the error specifically? In the past PA had trouble with non-standard keyboard layout, I'm not sure if that ever got fixed, but can you try copy-pasting your password in?
