That's rather odd. It sounds like the update was only halfway completed. If you use the UberLauncher, can you try hitting [VERIFY] a couple of times and try to play again? For Steam you need to verify the integrity of the game cache.

Maybe. I updated yesterday evening and it was fine. Then again, I didn't use the UberLauncher or Steam. Then again, the Linux download is still at 76557 in the Uber Store, so maybe Uber pushed an update just today that went wrong. I'm at work right now, so I can't test it or see what version I have at home.

Ha, yeah, I suppose that wasn't very helpful. :)
I'll get you a better answer when I get back home or maybe somebody else will come along and beat me to it.

One other thought that occurred to me is that because the PA.exe executable got updated, it got kicked of the firewall/antivirus exception list for being modified. Can you try again with your firewall and antivirus stuff completely disabled (as a temporary test). If that works, you need to figure out which one is blocking PA and add the appropriate exception.

wow totally fixed it o_O but.... thats odd i mean i added pa to exceptions and it didn't work, but when i disabled anti-virus and firewall completely it worked huh what about that :/ well ty so much for the advice :)

Maybe you took the "wrong" PA.exe? PA comes with a 32-bit and a 64-bit version. And the fact that pamm complains about PA being out of date may indicate there is another install somewhere as it tries to find the location by scanning the log files. I may be wrong about pamm though.

Anyway, I hope you can add PA back in, since you probably don't want to be without firewall/antivirus all the time. :)

No, it seems the problem was that something related to pa permission of using the network was disabled in my firewall settings, probably me pressing the worng button when it asked for my permission of letting this program to use the network or something. but its fixed now, still wouldn't think of it without ur advice so thank you :D.
