All I want for the spring patch: multiplayer polish and balance

    That is true. Actually something I would love to see is a series of highly modular mods doing exactly that. No air. No tanks. No bots. No nukes. No T2. Cheap T2. Etc.

    Why should PA need access to the filesystem for that? Unless I am mistaken the first implementation that comes to my mind would just list all units in the lobby and allow the host to select a bunch of them. Then ingame the server would disallow the usage of these units, identifing them by the unit_spec. No extra file system access needed at all?

    Because I got stuck thinking like a modder and figured unit_list.js would need to be changed :p.

    I hope they'll fix orbital rush and bot/tank spam supremacy and let us try other viable strategies, otherwise the game will die quickly. No one likes to stick to the very same tactic over and over again.

    Maybe it would be.
    Even if the server flags units that cannot be built, the client would need notification or a corresponding change in the unit list.

    Yeah the should fix that mess and make the client not have a fixed unit list at all and just directly get that data from the server in a transient matter.

    Would be great. Anything to reduce lobby simulator 2015 and make customizing lobbies possible.
