Here's a few from my watchlist: Ratchet & Clank The movie uses the plot of the first game but goes more in-depth and includes some stuff from later games like the Galactic Rangers (those hilarious cowardly robot soldiers). It's also got the voice actors from the game doing their characters in the movie, which means WIN. This might actually be it. The first good movie adaption of a game. Kinda concerns me that the trailer from 6 months ago is the newest one though. Kingsmen: The Secret Service Hey remember when spy movies were wacky and hilarious? The spy had a jetpack and the villain had a crazy deformity and a plan to recreate civilization under the sea? This is a step toward FUN spy movies again! Based off a comic book called The Secret Service. Directed by the same guy who did X-men First Class and cowritten by one of the writers who worked on Days of Future Past and First Class, so there's a good start. Samuel L. Jackson plays a genocidal-yet-apparently-haemophobic villain with a lisp and there's a badass ninja with prosthetic blade legs (and I'm pretty sure that's literally blade legs). Now there are one or two trailers which pretty much give away the plot so DON'T WATCH ANY OTHERS. One of the spoiler trailers starts with the line "We are an independant international intelligence agency..." but the trailers in this thread are fine. Chappie Neill Blomkamp does Short Circuit. Nuff said. Mad Max: Fury Road A reboot directed by the director of the original movie. Don't know what else to say other than it looks like a fun movie. Dat firestorm. Tomorrowland Uh... Did you see the trailer? Watch the trailer. Pixels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-WnULvCdFA Ok so that's not the actual trailer but that's what the movie is based on. Yep. Aliens think retro video games are a war declaration so they copy them and use them to attack us. Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage and the other people in the movie are a group of nerds who are of course our only hope. There's also gonna be another Hitman movie. Which I hope to god is decent. Also they somehow secured the money to make an Olympus Has Fallen sequel which is imaginatively titled "London Has Fallen". Also there's a Pixar movie coming out called The Good Dinosaur. Premise is "what if that bigass space rock didn't murder all the dinosaurs 65 million years ago last tuesday?". That sounds like fun, right? I've deliberately left out obvious answers like Star Wars, Age of Ultron, and Hunger Games because we all know about those. This stuff is down here so the other trailers show up: Ratchet & Clank teaser Kingsmen trailer 2
Definitely Mad Max. Ratchet and Clank was the first video game I ever played and I finished all of them more than once. (not even joking, I started playing at 7 when my mom told my grandpa I can play a T rated game since it was just about killing robots. My nostalgia level of this game is 9001/10), and I probably have more hours in that series then PA and Halo combined.
Personally I beat Up Your Arsenal about nine times. Also when I got the first one I ragequit the game for several years because of that god-damn sewer section in Blackwater City where you have to swim before you DROWN FUWEGAUFBWBJF%#@!$%! I beat the game eventually. Woot.
Hoverboarding is where it's at. As you can imagine at age 7 it took me hundreds of times to swim through that tunnel, and when I got mad I would throw myself in the sea and get eaten by the giant fish
If the Ratchet and Clank movie doesn't properly display the quarktasticness that is Capt. Quark, I'll be mad. That man is my hero.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR RATCHET AND CLANK. One trailer and I got insanely hyped, I love Ratchet and Clank. <3
Wait @Geers that's a different trailer than I first saw.. So that's the second trailer they've made, which is good. Man I hope this movie won't be tiny and only show up in some theatres... or even worse... GO STRAIGHT TO DVD! D:
My watchlist: Jupiter Ascending Seventh Son: Also looking forward to Chappie, Jurrasic World, Ted 2. But the most wanted on my watchlists definetly is: STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS !!!
Di... Did you say Ratchet and Clank movie? Yes... YES! That... has... GOT... to be awesome. Definitely going to look forward to that. As well as, hopefully, some decent games to come out as a result. READ AS: There is no shame in going back and making an HD remake of your classic game, then making sequels that take the best assets from the first games without making the stupid gameplay mechanic mistakes. Like fable. Except, don't end up like fable...
Oh, and I knew about this too. Go home Trophy, your drunk. Drunk off nostalgia and the 90's kids history, like a true oldfag. Well, still, they should make classic playstation platformers. Those games worked. **** what anyone else says.
They do! Ratchet and Clank: a Crack In Time (as well as the two games before it... but I'd say skip the second as it's not too good and is quite short) was the most recent one. They also made Ratchet in Clank: All for one. (The second is a bit different as it's a 4player co-op game, it's pretty fun- bit different)
Yeah, but its really been too different lately. Also, too limited scope. You can tell they are hurting, but their mechanics are far better than the course fable gameplay took, yet they are still not in the right direction. With the movie, they could make games closer to the originals and still improved gameplay onto them. Instead of do what games like fable did to fall apart, and make bad mechanics. Oh, and DBZ games are another great example, if the upcoming Xenoverse sequel has anything that will decide it, it will be actual playability and gameplay mechanics. The less it is like "rock paper scissors simulator", the better it will be.
It seems to have some GIF potential too! Jackson saying "does it look like I give a f***?" is on my list already. PS: I just saw an ad for it on TV and it turns out Australia gets it on the 5th. SUCK IT.
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/scarlett-johansson-star-dreamworks-ghost-761118 Oiy. Is... Is Ghost in the Shell getting a movie? Thats pretty kickass...
None, I'm not really a movie watcher. If something cool -does- come out I'll maybe go "Huh, guess I'll look"
