Please, the current efficiency percentage promotes bad habbits. If I have 10 factories at 80% efficiency that's much better than having 6 factories at 120% efficiency, and the percentage needs to reflect this. The current set-up tells people to waste metal.

While I agree the game should make it clear "you are doing something really bad" I feel it is very wrong to decrease the efficiency number for that.

    Well...

Technically you can't be more than 100% efficient

Sometimes i wish the floating metal color would change from blue to red, because it's worse to float stuff. When it's red you know you're actually using all the eco you have.

You should be able to turn off metal extractors so that you don't waste metal production.

the efficiency number is not really an efficiency number. It's just telling you the rate at which your stuff is fabbing.

But SHOULD it be? I agree with Stuart, the number and the colours should show you that you are doing something bad, not that your fabbers are doing excellent. I think that's waay more intuitive.

    shrugs maybe, maybe not.

The thing is if you do it the way stuart is suggesting, all that will happen is it will invert. 100% if you are red negative, and 0% if you are blue.

I would prefer personally if it did energy to metal spent ratio (an absolute number instead of %), but you have to admit that the most intuitive metric for players is generally % as a build rate.

Is true, is true. I guess none of this bothers me enough to actually whine about it. I look at the green/red numbers anyway.

it's fine the way it is, it's nearly impossible to stall mass on a decent sized planet anyways, and it's dangerous to stall energy.
