Idk, but there was this mysterious program on my computer that had recently been installed called something "ad blocker." I thought it was BS because I already have Adblock for chrome, so I uninstalled it. Now everywhere while browsing the internet random words are highlighted and mousing over then for any fraction of a second will display an annoying ad that I want nothing to do with. Furthermore, clicking links, even one so vague as the pause button on netflix will open an ad in another tab or make a pop up. I know this must be something on my computer, but I can't find it.

Ooh actually I know what you're talking about I'm still not sure what causes it, but I've had it happen before.

Unliked because chrome does not suck!

Malwarebytes is free, so go with that. Also, adblock for chrome is wonderful. Do you have antivirus over your pc?

You should not randomly install software from untrustworthy sources to prevent this kind of thing.

no actually it IS adblock, but generally all the plebs do is INSTALL it, you're supposed to CONFIGURE it as well.

add some extra lists and turn off "allow some non-intrusive ads"
