Hi guys - I'm new here, and I was thinking to buy PA from steam for mac (it's on sale right now so.. yeah)

However, I was wondering if my computer can run PA at low-medium settings (because it's definitely not going to run high.)

    iMac 21.5 inch 2011
    Mac OS X 10.9.2
    2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 (i5-2400S)
    4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6750M (with 512mb of memory)

Any help would be appreciated :)

If this is the wrong sub forum - oops.

4GB Ram will very likely not be any fun.
You'll probably be able to play small systems online only. Offline play needs 8gb ram.

As cola_colin noticed it's really unlikely game will work properly with 4GB especially on Mac.
If you can increase your RAM to 8-12GB it's will work just fine.

Uh 4gb plays ok if your sensible with maps... At least on windows. 8gb is better though I agree.

Alright that's good to know - getting an upgrade to 12GB RAM in a few days so that should be fine.
Only concern now is the graphics card having 512mb VRAM ; from what I have read, that isn't much...

You will have to set the 'virtual texture' setting to minimum, otherwise it should be ok.

    Updated specs

    12GB DDR3 RAM
    Everything else is the same.

So I am running fine (so far) at

    Virtual Texture: High
    Headlights: Medium
    Shadows: Medium
    Ambient Occlusion: On
    Anti Aliasing: FXAA
    HDR: On
    Resolution: Native (100%)
    Display Mode: Windowed

I usually only play 2-5 planet matches (that extra RAM helps a lot with the 5 planet ones)
It has it's moments where it drops to a still-playable 20FPS during intense battles but other than that it's 30FPS+.
    Erm... weird

Anyway I really need to stop paying attention to this thread and start posting somewhere else to gain my forum presence :p

Edit: Shadows were not High, they were Medium

That's better performance than I expected... Good to know :)
