Why don´t you do compareable sales on your own stores, but on others?

Steam completely voids the point of the game, it doesn't matter if it means less sales, the game was to be *drm free* from the start, which means it was never supposed to be sold through Steam at all.

But you can still run PA through its .exe alone?

Yeah you can also easily buy PA on steam, make your Uber account there and then download the completely free drm version from Uber themselves with that.

still doesn't justify putting the game on steam.

I would not be surprised to see the income from steam sales to be a substantial part of the reason why PA still can be further improved. That is a good reason to put it there. Nobody is forced to buy it from there really.

Why not? You're being awfully silly about this. Steam is a huge way to make money, and gain players. Uber would be terribly pressed for cash if they didn't put it on Steam.

I just don't see why it should be on steam in the first place, they're losing money to Gabe's drm, they'd be better off just selling it directly without Gabe or Amazon or any other provider cutting into their profit margins.

Because steam has 100+ million users. Potential customers. They would be very stupid not to try and sell their game to these people.

Any loss of income to Valve would be far, far, far offset by the increased sales.

"Why do people sell their product to Wal-Mart, or Target, they're just losing money to their big business. They'd be better of selling it themselves in their tiny shops without these big businesses cutting into their profits."

Physical stores are a thing of the past, that used to be viable.

Hahaha, okay now that's just being ridiculous.

Besides I must push this point, you can play offline OR even just run the game via the .exe.

Then why not just sell it through Uber's store, pure game without the steam bullshit in the first place?

There is no DRM in the Steam version of PA.

Because then they'd lose visibility, nobody would see the game. They'd lose the majority of the Steam player base. Which is almost half if not more of the current playerbase.
