Why when I halley a planet do the metal spots and CSG not disappear, why can I build on an invisible floor..... why has this not been fixed
because it's very difficult to fix, and you're not supposed to survive the impact to rebuild in the first place
I have the same effects and really it's just a quick fix that the devs can probably iron out next patch I agree it is a little odd but like theseeker said back in beta the idea of a Halley was suppose to be a end-all-be-all instead of just a massive planet eater
It has something to do with the engine and the CSG not registering and recreating the pathing. I really hope it's fixed soon; honestly this is the only thing I think really should have been fixed before release of the game.
From my understanding,is not fixed because it's not a "quick fix," the engine doesn't handle redrawing pathing properly and recreating terrain.
Yeah this is another of those major points which should have been in before calling the game released.
Just to clarify, Mavor said he wants planet smashes to be able to happen several times per game, not as a single game ender event. Planet smashing effects and repercussions for the target planet need a major overhaul, they are alpha quality and that's a shame. Uber has shown with the Annihilaser that they can make polished and awesome cataclysmic features, now they "just" need to apply that same level of quality to planetsmashing.
Absolutely agree with this, the Annihilaser looks incredible, while the planetary smash effect is quite barebones. I'm guessing Uber is aware of this, just incase though thought I'd post about it.
Yeah, it's one of those things that shoulda started happening when we got incidental smashing and also proportional smashing damage. As in at the point when a smash started becoming survivable and rebuilding on a planet became an option.
