I'm done modelling my turret and now i have to texture; last step. However I would like to texture based off the textures from the original turrets. And importing the files (laser_defense_single_material/mask/diffuse.papa) gives an error. I was looking at @raevn 's guide but the file extensions were .png....... So how can I view the single laser turret's textures in Blender?
Use .png's to see what it looks like in blender, then convert them later into .papa files using papatran.
I mean the textures in the unit folder are already .papa, and importing them gives an error. I should have been more specific.
Thanks that worked. There also seems to be a problem with texture painting though, does this have to do with "triangulate faces"? As you can see the UV is pretty terrible. The muzzle wont even show a texture. If it does have to do with triangulate faces.... welp gg :\
Use the 'smart' unwrap. You have a ton of polygons that are overlapping in the uvmap, and texture painting doesn't work if you do (for reasons that will be, in retrospect, quite obvious).
Alright based on the OP, i found out how to do this, and if anyone ever wants to know how, you need to download the .papatextureeditor program and then export the textures as .pngs and place them onto the model while in edit mode. Then you can switch to object view and voliĆ”!
