again that is because repairing costs a buttload to be worthwhile ... back in early beta when combatfabbers were introduced you occacionaly saw a comm combatfabberpush ... and it had even less health back then ...

Fair enough, I'd prefer more health and a slow regen above fab repair

Yeah i'd like to see that, as well as no plane clipping.

With zero energy combat fabbers that could become a possibility again, but only if metal becomes easier to get. By the mid game it's always the limiting resource by a significant margin only picking up again towards the end once all t2 mex have been built.

The downside of combat fabbers over regen is that they can be picked off fairly easily. Regen would be ok as long as it costs energy or metal and can be paused if you're stalling.

Combat fabbers are still bizarrely expensive.

If you're using him in the frontlines, sure, regen can't compete with repairing him, but I still advocate for a light regen.

a few combat fabbers with vanguards or infernos can be really dangerous though.

True, but then again they are like the few unit that have the HP to really benefit from it.

they are also some of the most-used units.

    Really?

Most people I have seen use dox-bolo-fighter-bomber.

I almost never see infernos/vanguards outside of the AI, but maybe the non-competitive scene have it in for them.

as far as current meta goes i see mostly dox bolant and fighters .. infernos became rather ocasional and vanguards ... quite a long time since i saw a good vanguardpush

inb4 "more t2in 1v1" = mapdesign i.e. further away and metalrich spawnpoints for instance ...

meh, bolos and dox are incredibly weak, infernos are necessary to soak up damage. I almost never use fighters and bombers, I should though.

I agree with the OP - at this point Commanders have no special features like in older games --> looking at you plasma cannon - are generic and seem pointless (besides the nice skins). It would be nice if there were different types of commanders with different features. I know that there is a mod by Cpt. Canondrum for exodusports matches that bringes that stuff in but it would be nice that the vanilla game would offer something like that and make the game more dynamic that way.

I don't know if I remember correctly but there were battle commanders in one of the older games for mor aggressive oriented players, etc.

Back in the day Uber considered it, but we all decided that because of paid for commanders and such that it may incidentally devolve into being pay2win.

Yeah I can understand that but it would give the game more flavour at the end and those commanders in the armoury seem pointless to me without any special features so will probably never buy them. What I was thinking about was more or less like a new standalone version of the game later with several enhancements afterall the game has to evolve or it will stagnate.
