I have downloaded Planetary Annihilation 2 days or so ago via Steam and when i tried to open the game the "preparing to launch" window opened up and after a second or 2 closed up again and nothing happened afterwards, no error messages appeared either. Ive tried a few things for it to work with no success. My system runs the following: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor (4.00 GHz), 16 GB Ram (GDDR5), 64-bit Operating System, AMD Radeon HD 7900 series graphics card. Any help will be appreciated since this is not the only game that does the same thing.

Please post your DxDiag (see my signature for details) so we can get a more detailed look at your system and drivers.

As Schwyx has said post your dxdiag so we can help you. Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date while you wait for someone to get back to you.

EDIT: Download links for Visual C++ 2012 and DirectX stuff below.

    Hello,

Have you tried updating your DirectX and your Visual C++? The game will not run properly without them.

Also, can you please try running the game from pa.exe or the Uber Launcher? Launching through Steam may cause errors.

    Download links (if necessary):

    - Visual C++ 2012: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

    - DirectX 9.0c End User Runtime: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429

    - DirectX 9.0c June 2010: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

I have a similar problem. I'll try downloading these 'links' above. See if it works...

I have a very similar problem. All updated graphic drivers. SP1 installed. But after playing 10-20min of PA, it just randomly crashes. Both Singleplayer and MP.

This is, what PA log and dx says (see attachment).

Sorry for the bother. But I really enjoyed every title since total annihilation, but this crashes are frustrating.

You seem to be rather low on memory according to your DxDiag.txt you only have 4GB. On top of that, your pagefile is rather small, so it can easily run out of memory altogether and crash. Try doubling the size of your pagefile and see it that helps.

Upgrading to 8 GB of RAM would be even better of course.

Hey guys I was playing PA for a good couple months with no problems. Now it seems I'm having the very same issue as all of you with crashes this past week. Seems to be more of a memory problem. Not sure what I can do. If anyone can take a peek and throw any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks

    Hello,

Your Intel drivers could use an update as they are more than one year old:
    Code:
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
    Driver Version: 10.18.10.3304
    Driver Date/Size: 9/9/2013 09:35:46, 12081664 bytes
PA is very sensitive to driver versions as it runs on OpenGL. Updating said drivers would help to fix the random crashes.
