The video below shows units simply falling out of the sky. I guess I'm okay with this, but since the cannon is like a factory, can we make it able to construct a unique unit that descends slowly, like in the kickstarter trailer?
It can then land and take care of its business, and never be able to fly again.

I also have another question- Is it possible to reload load units into the unit cannon? As it works like a factory, but also allow it to load outside units?

    Discuss below yo

I'm all for the unit cannon, and I think the fact they're making a gigantic step towards getting their promises completed it damn great. But the thing looks really spammy, and not really as amazing as it looked in trailers, but then again what implementations so far have looked as amazing from the trailers. am I right?

I think it'd be cool if they added an overload function, something that'd allow you to use your units like cannon fodder, with a radius damage based on the type of unit.

    It's PTE.

Judging it now is like reviewing a game when it is in alpha.

Jables said that they are pushing PTEs really early in development. In the case of the Unit Cannon it still hasn't got animations and will probably have plenty of balance changes based on feedback. It seems that they are moving towards open feedback rather than mainly internal.

It's actually incredibly cost ineffective though.

No no I mean how it is currently, it's really expensive. :<

We font even see t2 often (if at all) in 1v1 games, this' ll shoe up even less I'd imagine.

Also can someone PLEASE change its accuracy? Even just a teeenteeeny bit, there has to be some movement at the moment it looks completely unnatural!

Also: I told you they'd get the unit cannon in Meatloaf. :3

I think it should be expensive. I don't see the unit cannon as something that should be built in every game. I see it as a unit that can be used to create beachheads in otherwise stalemate situations.

They said the same thing about the Annihilasor.

My answer was along the lines of something I heard from someone who worked as an engineer:

"It's only beautiful to me if it is functional and performs its duties well. Then, and only then, will I consider discussing it's aesthetic worth."

I think it would be cool if the UC could fire turrets. They would be pointy or maybe drill-tip like at one end and penetrate into the ground after making their way to their destination. Then the cylinder (if they are cylinder shaped) would open and the barrels would deploy. Would be cool to plant some static defenses into the ground before your invasion force has to land. I would call those Javelins.

Just like the Annihilasor and Halleys and Nukes?

No, we need more variety in the early and mid game. The late game has plenty of cool things happening.

Well possibly but it's /expensive/ like really, but that's only the fault of the economy and unit balance. T2 is too expensive and needs to be more in line with T1, and the energy economy needs to be completely changed. Energy should scale as metal usage does when running low, and fabbers should use less energy.

I didn't say late game. It come only fire 12 units, so it's no way near as powerful as Annihilasor and Halleys and Nukes. Not as expensive as those end game units, but still relatively expensive. More of a mid game type unit. How expensive is it now, compared to the nuke, etc?

It's a late game unit. Same price as a nuke launcher or Holkins. More powerful than a Holkins for sure. No reason to build one of those tbh.

They're price was reduced from 13000, to 9000 or something wasn't it?

Okay well then yes I agree, it shouldn't be anywhere near as expensive as a nuke, but I don't want people spamming the UC either.

And yeah the Holkins is pretty much useless. It's annoying if you are being attacked by a Holkins for sure, but it's not cost effective.

No it was reduced in PTE, or that's what the patch notes said.
