Target/Kmart Australia Pull GTA V Off Shelves

The issue here is once again the people complaining have very obviously never played the game and probably haven't even seen anything beyond a three-sentence description of gameplay and a screenshot.

When V comes out on PC I'm pretty sure steam will have it.

For consoles? Wow, that is like Sega games being on the Nintendo.

GTA IV is on steam so I don't see a reason why not.

Availability isn't an issue. If that was their goal, it's a laughable attempt. There's still Big W, JB Hi Fi, and EB Games (that's what we call Gamestop) and those stores are always better stocked than Target.

You know what? I'm not buying from Target or K-mart anymore. I can find $6 dollar packs of socks elsewhere.

Also, @Geers , believe it or not we even have EBGames here in Houston, Texas. We used to have an expansion of Hollywood Video called GameCrazy, and I liked them because they sold guitar hero guitars and Gamestop is too good to cater to all it's gamers, just the ones that benefit the most.

That is why Gamestop is eventually going to die to digital transactions. Hopefully EBGames makes a niche and at least remains in Australia if anything.

After watching this video, I honestly want to meet and talk to the people who made this petition.

Because I just need to ask them if they really think that GTA V depicts violence only against women. Surely they can't think something like that, but watching this video and reading all these quotes spouting the word "misogyny" like it's a freaking buzzword, it's really coming off that way.

They don't depict violence to children, given all the school shootings we see. That is MIGHTY decent of them... but unfair, they shouldn't play favorites with children, everyone gets shot today no, it was at least smart of them to depict adult situations occuring only to adults...

...which at least morally makes the situation a purgatory only suffered by those who contribute, there is actually very LITTLE bad stuff happening to non-deserving people. Do you HEAR the civilians as you walk by? They all act stuck up and shallow and have jerry springer issues, sometimes I shoot them just based on what I hear as they walk by. The cops act better-than-thou and over-aggressive so when one passes me from behind and hits me and then tries to arrest me, I shoot them as well. All the dogs are pitt bulls and rotweilers, I shoot them just because they are beefy and can take it. Every character important enough to be given a name has a specific situation, usually worthy of being shot. NOT DEPICTED IN THIS PURGATORY, are children or christian families. Well, there are spoofs of "crazy religion" and "over-controlling religion", but actual charitable people and children are not depicted. So you aren't shooting anyone that matters in this "completely fabricated fake world designed for immoral enjoyment and blowing off steam".

Isn't that deep? Think about THAT next time you play some GTA5. Nothing you are doing, is as wrong as you think.

P.S. Does not make my Kira-complex taken out on random civilians as I walk by, any more correct. I know that, which is why doing it in a game is fun, and doing it in real life is stupid and nobody should ever do that

When someone asks me "which games are the best examples of video games as an art form?" GTA V is actually fairly high on my list.

It's a giant, interactive commentary on US society and how they are typically viewed by non-US residents. Every aspect of our world is satirized to show just how silly it really is.

The amazing Twitter parody Bleeter is a great example.
The name itself reflects "I'll repeat what I heard rather than doing my own research because I'm afraid of not fitting in"/sheeple and it has this great radio ad where you hear a guy say "I got bleeted by sprunk. Why Do I care what a soda's sayin' to me?"
