And the scenario where all mods are free and included in-game is what? Ludicrous? Stop making trouble when there's no need for any. You don't like that modding won't pay, go down to burger king and hand in your cv for you will have no money from me.
Not Ludicrous, just not what Uber hopes to achieve. Remember, this isn't my idea, but Uber's. But I can see now that you're not actually interested in a discussion here. Mike
Dismissal is a form a discussion but you are correct there's no room for negotiation. Any sort of pricing system for modding would be a disaster on the grandest scale. I'm predicting a Chernobyl level of blundering.
You are predicting millions of dollars worth of damage, a large scale radioisotope release, mass evacuations, ~40 direct fatalities, ~20 long term fatalities which can be linked to the incident, between 0-4000 probabilistic fatalities based on long term radioisotope distribution analysis (and a linear no-threshold risk model)... all based on one game's potential mod monetisation policy? I think you really need to develop a sense of scale.
You dug up a quite interesting post there. Has anyone seen chargrove lately or is he missing somewhere in the cellar?
Yes, he hasn't which could be concerning or he's missing inside a pocket dimension in a closet. Either way concerning.
I'm reluctant to speculate on his whereabouts, because he's hardly a frequent forum user at the best of times
yeah and he did directly state that he just can't frequent the forums and stay focused on his work. Still it's been month without a live sign, an update, even if tiny, would be cool
Maybe his deal is just to post one huge thing, then sign off for 6 months instead of posting regular, smaller bits.
So much potential for modding in this game. Sad to have the devs responsible for growing it either not working, or off on their own for months not even logging into the forums housing the tiny community interested in building in more content to their game. Development on the balance and basic features of the vanilla game is heartening, but extremely disappointed in the way the modding community here has been handled the past few months.
As a modder, I don't understand this post. Uber has always been very helpful and I know of many modders that have been able to get direct responses to questions.
Clearly they have more pressing issues than modding, just because they're not working on modding now doesn't mean they're just sitting doing nothing, or that they won't develop modding further in the future. Why do they /need/ to get on the forums anyway? No offense but you seem quite self entitled.
I fully agree on this. I've had private conversations opened by Uber members (like a red name writes me a pm because they saw something from me in the forums, I didn't even directly ask for a pm) with me to help me in one way or another. They also answered my questions on the forums in the past and partially implemented some UI API requests I had. Yes ofc they do not have a 24/7 modding support team, but within reason they are doing quite well.
