Yeah... I thought pony friends would be welcoming to everybody, but I suppose that's not always the case. :(

Oh pfff.. Nah they probably will, there's a couple here where I live, a place that I describe as the hipster south, as it's actually in Indiana... But boy, people act completely different than I expected for a northern state, though it's probably because it's a small farming town.

it's really beautiful. AND you'll get into the Carnival habbit (it's prepared all year long).

I've visited new orleans five times. (hopefully you get to go there).

there's a cafe there called "Cafe du Monde" go there. it's off the tits.

    also shrimp and lobster galore.

Unfortunately hurricane katrina ravaged the two-century old french wooden houses, so now stand in their stead replicas but it's still damn beautiful.

I wonder what it's like living somewhere that isn't perpetually overcast with miserable clouds

Yep I can agree with this, as I've lived in both countries. (UK and Germany, as well as Italy at one point. :p )

The UK is in a perpetual state of rain and cloudiness, it also never snows for some reason where I lived. (Dumb gulf stream)

Germany however did get snow during the winter and was quite warm in the summer; it also didn't rain neeearly as much.

The instant you move out of one of those places its all oppressive sun, bright light with sunburns and overheating. I honestly wouldn't recommend it.
