Hi, since the release before this one (74484) Glactic War just wont load. I click on the menu on the main screen and then is loads the Galactic War screen only to stop. Mouse still moves but none of the buttons are responsive, I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with an amd video card. I have use the single process hack for chrome ui to get the game to run. The rest of the game runs no problem and have played many hours so I don't think that's the problem.

    Any ideas?

Are you sure you wanted the single-process? That one is meant to reduce memory usage to the absolute minimum. I thought for AMD card under Linux you needed the --software-ui flag?

Sorry for the late response, the software-ui flag does work, but the game runs a lot slower than the amd using the single process for the chrome-ui. Something must have changed in the code as previously it worked no problem.

Which drivers are you using for your AMD card? The open-source ones or the proprietary ones? And if proprietary, which version? Also, can you post the output of:
    Code:
    lspci|grep VGA

Yeah, that looks fine to me. Can you upload a PA log here? You can find them in "~/.local/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/log". Just delete them all, start PA and go to Galactic War where everything becomes unresponsive. That should make a new log with hopefully error messages that can provide a clue.

I also included a screen shot as to what happens.
    galactic_war_wont_start.png

I also can not get back to the main menu or re-que after finishing a game, I have to exit the game alt-f4 and reload it.
That happens even with software-ui so its probably not related, but though it was worth mentioning.

I've seen that one before. That one occurs for me as well with --software-ui. Resizing the window fixes that. Or alternatively, toggle between full-screen and windowed and back again by pressing <Alt>+<Enter> twice, which is how I always fix it. That bug has been there for a long time. I hope they'll fix that one day.

I didn't realize it also happened when not using --software-ui?

Cool, maybe one day it will get fixed. Doesn't appear to be fixed in 75539.
