PA is running full screen. When I press Alt-Tab, it seems to activate another window but PA still appears to be on top, so I can't see / use this other window (a browser for example). Do other encounter this issue too? BTW, where's the setting to change display resolution?
PA has no real fullscreen. It's just a window sized exactly as big as your screen. So you can't change the desktop resolution. For people with multiple screens that's quite awesome. If you alt-tab PA should not stay on top, it should go behind the other windows. Maybe a bug? But if you have multiple screens PA would stay visible, so you can focus i.e. the browser without PA minimizing, as a "real" fullscreen application would.
To alt-tab PA in Win 7: press alt-tab, then continue to hold down alt to give you the list of active windows. Use tab to advance the window-selector through to your desktop, and then release the alt and tab keys. You will now be at your desktop, PA will be properly minimized, and you can switch to you browser or any other window at will. To return to PA, click its taskbar icon as usual. Does this help at all? It seems super simple, but I agree that PA not minimizing on alt-tab immediately threw me at first.
In PA it doesn't always work quite right. Sometimes if I alt-tab it does nothing. My usual process is more like Alt+tab Alt+tab Click on the screen Alt+tab It doesn't feel consistent and something is strange. Generally alt+enter to switch to windowed mode is better.
reminds me of how FA in dualscreen behaved xD Hmm for me on multiple screens the normal fullscreen has some issues as well, it flickers really bad when PA gains or loses focus. I discussed it @varrak already and it seems to be an issue where the driver goes "ooh you want fullscreen by setting your window size like that. Okay let me do some magic for you" and that magics just screws everything over. I use an external script that virtually does the same thing as PA, but with a +1 pixel on the window size, so the driver doesn't do it's bad magic. With that it behaves perfectly, with alt-tab as well. Dunno maybe alt-tab would be weird for me as well, though the flickering really was the only reason why I stopped using the normal fullscreen.
Oh. Actually, this is reproducable. Alt-tab does not work, if the game starts up black, and you alt-tab, and the game goes from black to mainscreen, it will "overtake" your alt tab, then if you alt tab again it will stay on top. The solution, is simple. Click the game screen. THEN alt tab again. Then alt tab should work again and PA screen should fall farther back. I notice this a lot when doing mods.
