Bringing back secondary colour and have strategic icons display your secondary colour to avoid confusion between two similar primary colours.

If I was uber, I would assist / integrate modders work to the official game. Content is lacking. Solve it by harvesting the good stuff.

go to vegas and try your luck then because if you were to ask on ks people would show the finger and call you lunatic by first second ... not to mention what publishers would call you rejecting your idea ...

Yes, in retrospect I would have rather seen PA been focused on the innovation of spherical maps and a killer unit roster to support that. A solid core gameplay built around single planet 3D spheres with a large dynamic roster and huge battles would have really been great. Orbital could have easily been an expansion once that core engine was solid. Trying to expand the genre to both multi-map and spherical maps at once was simply to much for one indie dev to pull off. Just imagine if the single world gameplay was really fleshed out; larger planets, better land features, a fully functional 4D height map, and a much more dynamic roster with better overall UI and optimisation. THEN go in for an expansion based around orbital and multiplanet play. Would have been much better IMO.

Speaking of mod content ... does anybody know if the mod marketplace is still a thing? Or is it a thing that isn't really going to happen?

KSP does this just fine, they pick well made mods/addon parts that fit with their goals, talk to the author, figure out licensing/legal, and then do it. Things like Naval balance mods etc should have been dragged in ages ago, or at least copied in.

"Second of all, if we do find a mod that does exactly what we wanted to do ourselves, and it’s done well, follows the style of the game, all that stuff, then we get in touch with the author, and we get the conversation rolling from there. There isn’t a system for adding a mod into the game. That said, we very well might find mods that do stuff we wanted to do, and we wouldn’t want to reinvent the wheel if we can avoid it."

I kind of agree and disagree. Orbital isn't terrible at the moment and I'm actually glad we have it, but I agree that focusing time, money and effort on single planet gameplay would have achieved better results.

any change to galactic war is good for the taking for me. for me it would be fantastic if it sould just be either: A. started from scratch B. a copy-paste of FAF GW
OMG how are even forgetting this!
    THIIIS!
it's NUTS to consider that we don't have even that!
    bithhhh pleathhh

    tell that to:
    • colored fab shader
    • colored nanolathe
    • eco efficiency percentage
    • endgame stats
    • advanced unit selection
    • hotbuild
    • some hotfixes
    • some bugfixes
    • lobby renamer
    • tracking pips
    • commander autoselect
    • circle-to-line
    • armoury commander preview
    • favorite commander
    • in-game timer
    • linger
    • players in server browser
    • spaced out defenses
    • spectator vision
    • subdued booster
    • tiny poles
    I may be forgetting some.
LOL that's a valid question by now.

None of these are directly incorporated mods, they are (re)implemented by Uber themselves (there's no legal issue with doing it this way, but it still uses Uber's time, which was what the post you were responding to was trying to avoid).

Also, Chrono-click is not functionally in-game, afaik. Neither is Armory Commander Preview (that would be interesting if it was, given it hasn't worked for quite some time ;)). Tracking PIPs (and probably many others) were always intended to be implemented too, modders simply beat them to it.

On that note, I just read this today (via RPS) about Double Fine's struggles to remake Grim Fandango. I hope Uber is making some effort to preserve their source materials. I don't want them to go out of business, of course, but if they do I hope they make their source available. It sure as hell would have helped the TA and SupCom communities!

We have a modded version and server is not very optimized.

I want official server tools and optimized servers. Right now the server requirements are quite high.

No we have the exact version they have, at least I'd assume so, we were never told otherwise.

I can run a server on my terribad computer, though of course I have to limit myself. My big hope is they eventually multi-thread the server sim as that'll instantly increase performance by a very large margin!
