StarCraft 2 adapts their own 'Shared Armies' mode

    this is Blizzard showing why they have all the loot. because they are attentive and intelligent, focused and on the move.

    they listened and acted upon what they heard. hence they will retain their market.

    they've been working on replays that you can pick up from any point.

    remember when I said PA would get the "first there" token, and that would at least be something to be proud of?

    not so sure anymore.

    Really, it's fine if you disagree, as you're all entitled to your own taste and opinion. That said, there's a reason it took the kickstarter wave, a desperate studio, and a boat load of nostalgia to make one game happen.

    This is hilarious. It's my favourite feature in PA, but I'm pretty sure this won't work in Starcraft. I can just imagine the hilarious rage of 2 people with leet micro fighting over control over the same units because they know best.

    It is also present in Age of Empire 2 and the Spring Engine supports it. Many players controlling one set of units is a fairly basic idea.

    Archon mode was originally a part of a April Fools joke way back in 2011:


    Or I think it was at least named based on it.

    But nothing on the scale (non-existent unit cap) of PA. Or with them having multiple bases/start locations.

    I think Starcrafters on team armies will be juuuuuuust fine. They'll figure out their way on it just like we had to.

    The original Starcraft had shared armies. Similarly Starcraft 2 has had an option for shared unit control since launch.

    This Archon Mode is ill-fitted for Starcraft's 1v1 focus. The only real application there is for one player to manage econ while a second manages six or seven units at a time with 200 APM.

    That latter "feature" is why Starcraft is losing ground to LoL and its ilk, because people would rather watch you micro-dance a Queen than a Pawn.

    Now, PA on the other hand... that's 1000 pawns. :) Can't get that anywhere else. It also actually warrants having multiple players on one army, because there's multiple battlefields that need managing. I'll take that over being somebody's worker bee any day.
