This happens to me way to often, whenever I start a game with anything more than a small moon that happens. I've done a little research and found some people have had this problem since gamma. If theirs anyway for me to fix it or for uber to fix it plz tell me.
Are you able to reconnect after restarting PA? Also, what OS are you using? If Windows, could you post your DxDiag.txt. (Press <Win>+R, type "dxdiag" and save all information to a file and upload here.)
I'm also having the same issue and not really finding much info on it. I have literally had no problems through the entire alpha and beta and literally played day before yesterday with no problems.
just tried again today, still saying it can't connect to server when I try to join a multiplayer game.
A new version was released around that time, so it's entirely possible that the new .exe got on the blocking list of your firewall or virus scanner. Try turning the firewall and virus scanner see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then you need to add PA.exe as an exception.
