Dear Uber - IF you need more money for PA, maybe just explain why and ask?

Good dismissal, it does you credit.

One day you'll realise throwing money at something doesn't, in fact, make it happen faster. One day :)

That's not true. There is a middle ground where Uber continues to make PA, but with less staff, and more slowly. Does Uber's recent move of laying off staff not make sense in the current climate?

Now Jables is saying the timeline's going to be a bit slower, and they'd prefer it if it was not the case.

So, if you still stick to the binary view, rather than viewing degrees of success or failure, please give your opinion on whether Uber is having financial difficulties or now.

Uber having financial difficulties does not mean PA is. Those who were laid off I would image were the ones that would be full time on HR. HR failed and Uber no longer has jobs for them to do so, sorry, lay offs happen.

It's going to happen slower now I assume because they don't have two separate teams working on the same engine anymore. Who knows what Uber's full plans were with the KS but I just can't imagine it would have had no impact on PA if it was successful.

If Uber have less staff (as recent events have proved), that means they had a financial situation to take care of. One or the other. Either they were in difficulties, or they weren't. Evidently they were (or rather, they didn't have enough to finance staff they didn't precisely need).

Do you leave a waterhose running all day, despite it having finished what you need? Now, if you planted more crops to water with it, and...

...oh **** it, let's drop the metaphor. If you supported a parallel development on the same engine like Human Resources, then that is another source of income to fund other things in the engine to create an rts from the "other side of the tracks". Otherwise, they could keep the current people, work slightly faster as they are all good workers, and then be unable to continue in 6 months. Really, it is best to do what they did, compress their workload into surgical focuses, and reduce their staff for development longevity.

It's very simple: Why have a large staff if 40% would spend most of their time drinking coffee? It's highly in-efficient and simply costs more money than it brings in. Simple economics. It's sad for the people that have to leave, but most likely, most knew it was only for the duration of PA's development.

Compare it to having a restaurant with 40 tables: you're not going to hire a bunch of staff for a whole day if you know only 5 tables will be taken at any time of the day, two can handle that easily. Which also raises the question, why have 40 tables? Why not downscale to a smaller building? Why isn't marketing working?
