I'm really liking the balance mods. If i wanted to edit a server mod like rcbm, how would i do so? I'm not going to take credit for anything, because all I would do is change build rate and efficiency. Is this possible?
Just go into your server_mods folder (something like C:\Users\***Username***\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation), and either directly edit the mod or copy it and rename it to "....backup" or something. It should be pretty easy to just change build rates and such... however.. you won't be able to play with others unless they have your changes.
Thanks. So, the only way I can get others to play this is if i upload it to PAMM? I'm sure the mod creators won't allow that. It would be nice to have variations though.
If you host a game with a server mod enabled, other players will auto download that server mod when they join.
Thanks Raevn. @KillerKiwiJuice in that case probably a good idea to change the name a bit so it doesn't confuse people.
Yes, but i thought it needs to be verified on PAMM before i can use it in-game. Idk maybe i'm making things up with my mind.
So, I copied the realm balance mod folder to create one that I can edit without messing with the original. Now, I am finished editing the .jsons and ready to test it in-game. What do I have to do next? wow the modding forum could really use a basic tutorial :\ EDIT: I GOT IT WORKING OMG MY FIRST MOD GUYS I'M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW YESSSSSSSSS ლ(▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ლ)ლ(▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ლ)ლ(▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ლ)ლ(▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ლ)ლ(▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ლ)ლ(▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ლ) EXPECT GREAT THINGS OUT OF ME, GREAT THINGS INDEED...
One thing I would suggest is to go into modinfo.json and change the display name. That way when you play with other people, they will be able to see that it's not the standard RCBM.
I just made the energy and metal more efficient. T2 energy now costs less and it makes more. T2 metal now costs 3400, but also makes 40 metal. It's not on PAMM, so i'm not taking credit for anything. Just my own little version I guess.
Well I might say you've missed the point of T2 eco then, but do as you wish. Just make sure if people play with your changes that it's abundantly clear this is not stock RCBM.
Yeah I say in chat every time that this is a twisted version of RCBM. I probably say it a few times tbh. I even renamed the mod to "Faster Paced RCBM"
More Metal RCBM is a little more clear. Also, clearly explain it is RCBM in chat, but instead of old school TA metal, it has more metal almost close to PA metal.
