TrophySystem, getting non-rotated bones into game is not the problem right now. It's the rotated bones, and the stuff they have been able to get in so far are just static animations.

Actually Zx0 was just able to get an animation in for a multi-bone unit, our hover tank in Statera (a little floaty animation)

@zx0 have you been able to get a unit with rotated bones into the game? I can provide a little bot model I've been wanting in Statera to test it out.

Well, all bones are technically rotated...

This. They may have figured something out, a reproduceble step by step instruction video would be nice.

Besides, to be honest, a lot of modders are getting models in, and they may be animationless, but that is "immersion" at best, because you can usually make an animationless model fit the position.

Besides, with or without the ability to do animations, most people will opt out of animations just out of simplicity and laziness. Based on what you see from other game mods anyway, like Skyrim and Fallout for instance. Making a simple skin or something usually suffices without fancy additions.

Well what we mean is not facing up forward. Basically the difference between a tank and bot is that with a tank all bones are rightside up and facing forward, whilst a bots legs are actually tilted with the top of the bone tipping forward a but and the front face of the bone tipping downard.

So I have been playing around with this a little more with the help of zx0. It's just a case of setting up the bones correctly. It seems that the size and orientation of the bone effects papatran.

It also doesn't help that all the 3ds Max guides for setting up bones do it in a different way.
