I love the new large land planet. It makes different builds viable, and game feels so much closer to balanced!

Opens up several experimental paths, also was able to compete with non meta builds vs meta builds.

With half the pool made with planets this size, my balance complaints would slow way down and I would be happy with small changes from here on out.

I can't wait to see top players duking it out here and think we could even catch a glimpse of t2 on planets this size in competitive 1v1s.

Go out to the battle grounds give this piece a rock a ride annihilate and let the community know your opinion!

I have been looking forward to releasing this planet for a long time. I'm really interested to see what kind of meta will come out of it. Will it be pure air spam or will there be land too? Will we often reach t2? It is clear to me that you need to proxy at least a little because the map has so much delicious metal to eat, but there's always the question of how to do it best.

    *Edit*
You're talking about this map, right?

Yes! Holy sh×t if I could play 70% of ladder matches here or on rocks like this I would!

    So refreshing!

Pls up the statistical chance of getting this awesome planet in match. Its like we've been playing on steps of war in sc2 and finally moved to the real deal.

I think those other maps are pretty fun too. Not every game is a bot rush now.

    Just played on this map.

Dox rush is still the best strategy. Mix tanks in later = even better. It's a good map but i don't think it changes the meta, although a heavy air build might work here.

I think I played on Clarke on my first ever PAstats match. I won by walking out into the ocean and abandoning my bot factories in favor of a bomber assault, since he'd completely neglected to do anything but the dox meta. Got my efficiency achievement on steam too! :D

I was rather shocked by the size, it definitely made me question how the dox meta was a thing. Makes more sense knowing large maps are an unknown atm.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. All of the new maps are important to us, but I was especially interested in this one. I think we will be talking soon about including more large maps in any future map packs we release, but I still want to see a real meta develop on this planet first.

This is interesting, I usually play on my own maps as much as the PA:Stats ones.

I have a large Radius 777 moon I play quite a few 1 v 1 on and that also favors tanks later.

Totally understand the desire to let the meta develope. How about we add more big maps but add more vetos for those who are uncomfortable playing on large maps until meta develops where those of us who enjoy it can do it up.

JOG: If you want to play the large planet exclusively, you can save a local copy via the system editor and just create custom games with it.

Just open it up in system editor, add a moon, remove the moon, then press save and voila.

You can actually just use PA Stats systems the same way you would load from system sharing. There's a tab for them when you go to pick your system to use.

Great idea it's just most non ladder players are. ............. still in the beginning stages of learning the game and make for rather lopsided matches.

I Love to be challenged, I love to get my butt handed to me and to learn from such whoopings.

Can't test builds viability without a human opponent trying to destroy you at every turn.

900 radius in alpha was very different from 900 radius today; you know that. :p

That's very true, but my experience so far even in automatch games has been that none of us really know how to play Clarke yet. Elodea and I had a discussion about it last night and we're still not even sure that there would be a single best strategy on this map. I'm starting to think that the best approach will be to adapt to what my opponent is doing, which if true would mean we have found the holy grail of RTS games. If we are close to it with this map, I think we should take a look at what is good and what is bad here and work on making something new that achieves this goal.

I don't believe so at all, they look completely different, both in generation and size.

    310*20+200=6400 this one's 6400 current radius and 310 old.
