    Grenadiers are light artillery units.

But usually most people don't build towers and walls.

But are they? They basically have the same range as the dox, also die instantly to any hit and do about the same damage. The only difference is their firing arc which barely matters at all, which is why nobody uses them.

I know I may sound like a fanboy but RCBM does the grenadier pretty well:
    - It has a high range (~1,5x - 2x the Dox range?)
    - It has low projectile damage
    - It is inaccurate
    - It has much nicer projectiles which can actually be distinguished from the Doxes (artillery shells with trails)
They cannot really be used alone as they get torn apart at the front lines and are a supporting rear-line unit, which can be used to force encounters and lure enemies out of their bases, even in the early game.
    I love them.

Except they fire over walls and have AoE and move slower and have no AA and require more time to build and have a longer range

But yeah, other than that, Grenadiers are totally the same as Dox

I am pretty sure if they even have an AoE it is close to nonexistant - I never noticed it when using them.
Also the extended range (if any, does someone have numbers?) is not really noticeable...
So they are worse in every regard compared to the Dox - what a well designed unit

Grenadier has a range of 95, dox is 75. They have a splash damage of 40 over 5.

So, 40% range increase and 800% splash damage advantage is unnoticeable hmm?

They're turret destroyers; where your Dox may get a shredding from a turret surrounded by a wall, those grenadiers will laugh at them

A difference between 75 and 95 is actually a 26,6% increase in range, not 40%. And no I have never noticed a difference in splash damage between the Dox and the grenadier. Grenadiers also get shredded by turrets.

If you're going to use them like they are dox, then they will die like Dox but more so

Use them as light artillery, and you might actually find them to be useful
