[REL] Section of Research and Exploration 1.1.2 [82834] (mostly not working)

    Status: mostly not working

    Build 82834 and the previous couple PTEs changed the way GW tech is handled, which mostly breaks this mod - the only previews you will get are new loadouts. I've fixed it to keep from breaking things, in the hopes of revisting the strategic layer of the star map once changes settle down again.

    Description

    Shows the available tech in the Galactic War system detail panel. This is even more of a cheat than Section of Foreign Intelligence, but I often found myself with four or more systems that I could attack, and very few reasons to choose one over the others. This mod makes that decision more interesting, and adds a new strategic element to your path through the stars.

    Version 1.1.2 - Prevent mod from breaking star map action button in 82834 and last few PTEs. No research will appear because it determined at exploration time, except for new loadouts.

    Version 1.1.1 - Null object fed localization a null value; side effects covered up by Extended System Moves.

    Version 1.1 - Support localized card names in 72332

    yes i will second and third that too.... nice to know what is ahead just before the **** hits the fan... and be ready for it...damn good mod and i dont fell like i am cheating just got a more better view of the galaxy ... you know!!!!

    hey there:)
    thx for this nice mod but your new version seems to be bugged...
    you aren´t able to jump from system to system in the galactic war and downloading tech doesn´t work too...

    Not sure it is related , but I noticed that upon defeating the last boss, GW used to stop after exploring the current system.
    Now, I can explore all the remnant systems, and have to click "Save an Exit" to quit GW.
    Fired up the debugger and saw this :

    Could this be somehow linked to the mod ? (didn't install any other lately, especially not GW related)

    I think I have have seen this too, but I'm not doing anything with incStatInt or game behavior in general. There has been trouble if a mod bug broke a ko event chain, but I didn't see any evidence of SoRE errors.

    I find it impossible to play GW without this mod. So frustrating hopping around looking for orbital tech.

    However, this mod seems to be broken with the latest PA patch.

    Please define broken. (It probably wouldn't hurt to define latest patch as well, for posterity. I'm on 72996)

    I started a new campaign this morning and it was working fine. What GW Settings are you using? What other mods are you running?

    It doesn't do anything special to highlight them or identify which ones are 'new', but they show up like any other card.

    Looks like this might need a quick review. Not sure when it happened, but now the reported technology isn't accurate. I just started a game and it said complete air, and ended up being complete bot tech when I actually went there.

    Edit: Crap now I'm not sure, I may have misread. Sorry about that. I'll edit this again if I encounter another error.

    GW appears to be moving to on-demand card drawing instead of predestination, so you'll be back at the mercy of chance soon.

    I see. Thanks. I haven't even played GW since then. I've been refining my logical changes mod in skirmish and I took a short break from PA generally.

    Whats more, it actually breaks the "Jump" button in PTE.

    It doesn't appear. The fact that the mod will be entirely defunct hasn't given me a lot of incentive to investigate.
