It is strange that Uber has failed to balance Naval units even till now. It really is quite easy to balance naval units. Just do the following: - Increase naval units' speed by 50% - Reduce the damage of torpedoes (from commander and Slammers) by 66% - Increase the naval units' damage against land or naval units by 30% - Increase their HP by 30% - Let portals be buildable on water, and can link water to water between planets Come on man, it does not take Evangelos Katsioulis (IQ = 258) to balance this game! Even a near-retard like myself (tested IQ = 70) can balance it in a few minutes! Above: Evangelos Katsioulis has the world's highest IQ, at 258. With 6 Ph.Ds and multiple other advanced degrees, and a near-photographic memory, he can solve any problem in the world ... but Naval balance doesn't require so high an IQ to balance!!!!!!! Navy should be one of the first few balances to be prioritised, but 3 weeks since release, and nothing has changed. In fact, in the last couple of months before release, nothing was balanced.
Many have advocated changes in similar categories; movement speed and health are the two biggest issues, it seems, because when those two problems are combined you have boats which take upwards of a minute or two to reach their target, yet die instantly when they arrive. T1 damage could stand to be tweaked, mostly AA, but I'd rather have the speed and health fixes first; I don't mind the idea of navy as mobile artillery, meant to make sustained sieges against the land. T2 navy has sufficient damage to fill this role with frightening power, if only they couldn't get instagibbed by air...
