I'd like to work on some sort of 3D mini RTS game for mobiles, as I'm fed up with all these really boring; terrible games that claim to be strategy games. :p

Many being pay to win, wait to do anything, etc...

Basically I want to make a pay to play RTS game for android possibly apple, because why not?

So then, any advice on getting started? :D

To be honest, I've tried a lot of mobile RTS games and I haven't seen a single one that was remotely good. Maybe it's because I'm an RTS snob.

The two main things is there isn't enough room for the UI (unless you maybe stuck to tablets only) and the AIs always are incredibly terrible.

Overcome those two difficulties and I'll be happy to try out your game.

I think it's because developers are too scared to make a bigger mobile game, a Gig mobile game is unheard of for example.

Not saying it'd be that big, but the biggest mobile games are normally ~50 - 100 mb, at least that I've seen.

The reasons? Phones often only have 16GB of storage. Seeing as this'll be something for me I'll probably go as large as it takes to be at least decent, because all other rts mobile games are quite terrible.

Might put it up in the store, for anyone who actually wants to give it a try.

Just make a one-input game with the simplest and most repetitive gameplay possible. Stick ads on it and BOOM you're rich.

I've seen games over a gig. And these days it's not that uncommon to see large games in the several hundred gigs.

I say go for it! Make an epic game.

But please, put an emphasis on actual gameplay rather than graphics. All these stupid games are more concerned about flashing graphics than actually interesting gameplay.
