Fortunately, the game does remember that I defeated the faction leader on restart, but this BUG also affects the final boss fight, so I get no 'well done you' or 'you am teh winnar!' screen after completing a damn long epic scale Galactic War. Just a crash to desktop; scant reward for my efforts ;-)

Looks to me exactly what I was experiencing here

Are you playing on steam by any chance ? I noticed it happens on steam, but not with uber launcher

    Hiya

Yes that's right, I'm using the Steam launcher. Looks like the same problem indeed.

I'm trying to remember now if this happened before the achievements update or not...I think that I don't know because on my first couple of GW attempts, the game took so long to generate the planets (AKA Calculating Approach Vector etc.) for the red faction leader fight that I thought at the time it had hung (crashed). I've since learnt that it hadn't crashed, it can just take quite a long time to generate the (typically) 3x metal planets that the red faction leader battle takes place on.

You probably already know this, but just in case: This has been fixed now in the current stable build.

I have the same issue every time after defeating any faction leader launching the game from Steam.

As far as I'm aware I'm currently up-to-date and this just happened to me. Quite annoying but at least it's counts as a win.

So it crashed *after* the game? The bug they fixed was for appearing to freeze *before* the game even started. It sounds like something different in your case. Do you often get these crashes? If so, you might want to start a new thread and post your DxDiag.txt there. (Press <Win>+R, type "dxdiag", save the output and upload to the forum.)
