If I could know who to punch in the face for making this balance if anyone is implementing suggestions in the balance forum now that Scathis is on HR I'd appreciate it.
They take a wheel and place absurd balance changes, then throw darts, then total up which suggestion was hit the most, then go with it...lately they havent used it and its gathering dust
I actually really like this balance. The bots are great, and the tanks are fun, air is cool. Boats need a defibrillator, and orbital needs to be .....something. but yeah.
in before lock... My issues with Advanced units aside. Naval really needs work and Orbital could use some love as well. We had been told that naval balance was being worked on, but nothing came from it. I'm really concerned that Scathis is no longer working on PA. Is someone else taking over balance? Or is PA balance done? I really hope PA balance isn't done...
There was no mention of @metabolical moving away from PA so I wouldn't worry too much is scathis has his attention elsewhere. Personally I think the t1 balance of bot vehicles and air plays well now, and T2 isn't too far off either imo. Orbital needs at least one more unit (maybe a slow, low health long range unit to tackle anchors but vulnerable to fighters- kinda an orbital hornet?) and sea just needs tweaking in relation to everything else.
I actually thought they cut the head off a chicken and placed it onto a board which had various balance terms such as 'lower damage' or 'increase costs' along with all the units of the game. Then wherever the blood is splattered becomes the balance change. TL;DR Rumours have it that uber sacrifices chickens to appease the balance gods
All jokes aside, i would really like to know this too. There are some critical issues with PA right now that do need addressing. Game is seriously stale currently.

It's almost like a paper-thin roster, lack of any cohesive balance paradigm (other than "feel"... whatever that means) and features that are there that feel more like a tick for a checklist rather than essential elements to the gameplay foundation... ... was a bad way to balance the game or something. --- Feel free to try the mods; I doubt the base game is going to get much attention in the balance area anytime soon.
inb4 Dustin Browder. This game doesn't have destructible rocks but something much more interesting, destructible moons. If that doesn't bait him here, i... don't know.
Ground and air balance is pretty ok for me. Naval is who most need attention now (with balance and subs and so) and some reworking in orbital later, maybe with another Uber super weapon (like asteroids) or some new units. After this, MORE UNITS PLZ!
Hmmm.... Asteroids as a large orbital 'unit' or 'feature' instead of a separate celestial body?.... I could dig it, maybe have asteroids or other tiny orbitals spawn in some planets' orbital layers, and you can strap mini halleys to them for a little mini smash, it would also give us points of interest and focus within the orbital layer itself.
