I just noticed that when a T2 Bomber is shooting at a Factory while building units, the missiles of the bomber cant harm the factory.

I checked it first with just one bomber, whenever a new unit started in the factory, it got destroyed...but no "splash" damage to the factory itself.

    Then i increased the numbers...5...10...15...
all the time with the same result. The unit inside the factory got hit, even if the first missile destroyed the unit, the rest of them just hit a "phantom".

    Has anyone noticed the same?

If you are shooting at a factory that is auto-building, then it is likely the factory is just starting a new unit over an over while you shoot at it.

The factory can instantly start a new unit if the previous one destroyed wasn't finished yet.

But yeah, T2 bombers shoot at the centre of most targets, and so for factory's just kill the unit on top over and over, so they are really bad against factory's.

Umbrellas to the same thing to orbital factories. Personally I don't like it - it could almost be classed as a gameplay mechanic, but it seems more of a bug to me.

The way units prioritise their targets is definitely bugged. E.g. if you have a group of bluehawks they tend to overkill on one target, which is a total waste of their firepower.

I agree that it seems more like a bug. By expending metal and energy the factory can build itself an infinitely regenerating shield! LoL.

Surely there could just be a second cooldown before the factory can begin its next unit build or something? I mean units already have a rolloff time between builds so it'd mean a window in which shots will hit.

Oh how much I would love the artificial intelligence that control these units to take account of this. Shooting at the closest target isn't always sensible.

Better targeting AI would be cool, even as a multi-faceted gameplay element. E.g. making Bluehawk prioritize T2-units and avoid overkill could be an interesting balance against a sheller. Atm missiles in general are just worse than conventional artillery.
