Also I just make simple test with "PAX Prime" system: After system loaded there both PA versions use about 600MB. With system generated 72332 use 1,940MB With system generated 72908 use 1,340MB It's 40%+ memory usage drop. PS: Only affect system editor!
Please say that this also fixes the bug where elliptical orbits get reset to circles when you select planets... That would make everything so much better.
So looks like this not affect actual game, but only system editor. Anyway this mean we can generate even larger planets here for testing.
ENGRISH BAD!!! but i love this change, makes area patrol much more effeicient/cooler, with aircraft especially, as i am seeing like 3-4 squads of 20some ships roaming by base to defend....just so cool!
Hello, I noticed that the UI took a longer time to respond than usual, at least on my machine. This only happened in-game so far. In the stable update, the UI was very responsive and responded almost instantly. Now in the PTE, it takes about a second or more to respond. Here are my screenshots of the performance panels. Client FPS: Memory Usage: Sim speed:
having the same thing happen here, dragging a box around units takes about 2seconds lol i cant even double click units to select them all and if you repeatedly left click the ui remains non-responsive and has to catch up before you can make any more command. started up a new game and didnt have this bug so not sure what it could be.
Them system editor tweaks though... now all we need is the ability to place custom start locations. I'm liking where this is heading Uber, looks like you guys saw those posts I made about that stuff.
Looks like Gross Economy, and probably all requirejs mods, will require the no-timeout option to avoid problems with the longer loading times.
So, the change to the number of processes for coherent will impact the responsiveness of the UI. If you have memory to spare, up the number of processes. If you don't, don't. This is the tradeoff for reducing the number of total processes, sadly.
Just a heads up, showing metal spots in system editor is largely useless without also showing spawn positions and showing an actual metal count. So we will still have to constantly reload maps anyway. Appreciate the changes and all though. Nice stuff. Thanks for fixing the system editor crash.
Nope. Because you don't know where the spawns are going to be for whatever player size you are planning to do.
True, but it's still helpful. I was talking about the possible outcome being known, we would have a better idea in the editor of the metal without reloading. But yeah they still should add that anyway.
Would it not be possibly to programmatically set the appropriate number of processes based on the amount of free memory?
Personally I think you might want to increase process limit to 6-8 processes. It's will still keep memory usage a lot lower (8 processes instead of 28), but should be enough to keep it responsive.
I think it should be Dutch (Nederlands) and Dutch-Belgium (aka Flemmish (Vlaams)) as Netherlands is a country Altough the differences between the languages would be tiny, not sure why it warrants the efford
I am not able to play any of the videos that are linked in the Uber feed in main menu. GW intro video does play, but the other just won't react to my clicks. I tried it without UI mods, same result. Just a wild guess, but could it be there are too few render porcesses now to run the videos? I will check if increasing them helps.
