So yeah, first impressions are important if not crucial.

Uh yeah metacritic just dropped from meaningless to utterly meaningless. I mean in general for any game that may develop more in the future it is compeletely stupid not to take that into account. Why even read a critics score if it does not reflect the game anymore anyway?

I believe it's a separate rating.

No point in mixing 2 ratings for the same game. If you buy a game now all rating for the game 1 year ago are pointless if the game was further developed all year.

Yey double post, as I just had an idea to solve this weirdness:

If Uber were to release the PA Addon "PA: The awesomeness" that actually is just a patch that is delivered for free to all existing players would that count as a new game?
Forged Alliance is a new game and rated as such after all. Does the addon need to cost something? What is necessary to be judged as "new game" anyway?

I think if the 'new' game can be purchased separately as a game in it's own right, then providing it as a free upgrade to owners of the first game wouldn't make any difference.

Yeah and the 'new' game comes with a sticker on the box "Includes a free copy of PA vanilla" hehe
