You can't do that in FA, if that is what you are saying...? And what makes you think you would need a build bar for that? Why not make the edges between the building blueprints editable ON THE MAP? you grab one edge and drag it onto a different building in the blueprint queue and it automatically arranges the other edges to accommodate for this change.

Edit: I see, your are not talking about buildings. Then I don't get your problem. There is no ******* problem. Have factory UI like in SupCom, done. But you don't need factory UI for BUILD units like engies. But I already said that. I really don't get what you are not getting about what I have been saying all the time...

starcraft im not so sure, ok it does deliberatly limit you ... but to me area command often feels (depends on use) like an A-move order even though a A-move is more directional .. still if you have a big enough deathblob and issue an A-move like in starcraft it could be considered like an areal attack just from the starting point from were your units started to attack enemyunis/structures till their destination ... at least this is my impression
i guess it would be most useless in a purely tactical game/match

i think what tatsu is talking about is to see a unitqueuebar were players can see the current line of what the factory is building next ...
as far as i know current productionbars in factories show what and how much units you build but you cant see the order of which is build next .. you can only see the queue of buildings looking on the planet with shift ...
i guess he wants to have the bar to be able to take of single units/structures of the current order of the queue ... because iirc that was possible in supcom and is not in PA...

read my edit. Apparently you don't even notice that we were talking of two different things for a while. It is very obvious though which makes me wonder why you didn't notice it.

with structuresize differences i could see that being rather problematic and ...
better to either erase a structure out of the queue, readjust is placement on the map or readjust the queueorder with the placement of buildings staying the same, or add a structure inbetween the buildings of the queueorder ...

People say this with new and old rts, hi def tvs compared to old projector screen televisions, new nintendo game remakes compared to old nintendo games, and anything really.

And there is always someone defending either side. Heck, I usually defend both. I can tolerate playing on either style television, I like both classic and new nintendo games, and classic rts with even less ui tools than PA.

What I find though, is that after spending an extensive time playing the mechanical PA method of playing, when I go back to Red Alert 2 I play stupidly. Like, I am not stupid enough to build multiple barracks, I know only one makes units at a time, and I know income is a limited cap. However, instead of building 9 unit snipes I try to build waves of soldiers and proxys. It actually half *** works, except any game lasting too long is prone to superweapons ending it. You don't actually need large bases, you just need like 1 structure and some turrets to take a metal field. I am used to building actual bases over top of metal fields.

WHAT do you disagree with??? I'm short to have had enough of this! You don't articulate what the **** you are actually talking about. What kind of conversation is this supposed to be?? You only make fragmented statements. I already said - in this very thread - that I just can't read minds!
