[WIP][Server] Orbital Warfare Overhaul

    We're currently thinking of having the SXX stay in the second tier, as a building sniper, (make it really slow, and not be able to turn to fire) then having a general orbital bombardment ship, that just shoots tactical missiles.

    I did a spacehsib based on the concepts from the last message I posted, do you think it could fit in the mod or the style its way to different?

    Thank you very much! You models are pretty good too, for some reason i think yours fit better with PA, most pa units geometry are squares and cubes, and i did something more uniform and with curves. Yours look easier to texture too.

    Maybe i should check about how to make pa style textures, they dont seem really Hard to make compared to other games.

    If you manage to work out the texturing for PA, let us know as we are looking for more people to do textures at this point in time. Even another modeller may be useful although textures are a bit higher on the list of priorities at the moment.

    Okay I was bored and felt like making a model of a space ship based on some ancient fan art for PA.

    Oh nice. As I said before though, quit making me look bad guys.
    The image for the fan art is broken, although I think I recognise where this ship is from. I really like the model though, great job with it.

    Just a quick note.
    I don't actually mind people posting models here as they provide me with new ideas, and show me how I can improve my own skills. Also It's just cool in general seeing what other people can come up with.

    I'm glad! You might want to try not to go as overboard as I, I can't imagine texturing this monstrosity of faces.

    Well that looks like it would be fun to texture. And here's us having issues even with texturing some simpler models properly.

    To be fair I haven't done any limited dissolves yet, they get rid of a lot of extra faces. but even then they'll break up into multiple faces when triangulated again. (Also I don't do as many limited dissolves as I should because I like them for setting up colours and such. :p )

    Oh yes I remember the fanart concept for this, looks really awesome and it really fits PA universe. Only that you're right, there are so many faces and vertex, so putting them in order and texturing them would be a hard job.

    If you need any help with modeling, I'm pretty sure someone would make a couple of models for this mod, I would do that myself too, only that I have to make something that fits better PA and the mod. ill check the PA texturing tutorial btw.

    Here's the situation.

    I run linux. My ultimate weapon is photoshop, a windows/mac app.

    I'm going to reinstall my linux to get the vitrualisation tech I need active.

    I'm then going to make a virtual windows and install Photoshop in that.

    It'll take some time to get it all working. after that I can do your textures no problem.

    Jeez that sounds like a lot of trouble to set up. Don't rush though as we still have a lot of models to actually create.
