What Uber should Focus on.

    There has been allot of angry comments and such since release (mostly saying 'where is feature X' I liked this game but...). I think that is probably why they have been avoiding interacting with us much on the forum lately and I can't say I blame them. I think things just need a little time to settle down, the fact is that right now they are focused heavily on customer support, server tweaks (game has been notably smoother for me lately), optimization and bug fixes. I'm certain they've still got people on new 'big' features however they need to get on top of the other things first.

    I bolded the part that is incorrect. A radius 1000 planet has a circumference of 6280m, which is 62x the range of a T1 tank. You want a planet with a circumference of 1000, not radius. That's why the equivalent planet to a 5x5 sup com map is only 170 radius.

    I'll add another 16gig of ram and change the graphic card to something more ....appropriate, for safety. you never know.

    A server with a graphics card could be really useful for GPGPU stuff, actually.

    Also, is it true that the current servers have a max planet radius of 1300? I really want to play on HUGE planets!

    Afaik they want to go higher, but optimisation is not on our side yet.
    I guess that with your own server you can set the limit more freely. At least that would make sense.

    Ubers servers a quantity over quality.

    Which is why fan servers will bring that quality over quantity edge.

    I wonder if it's feasible for them to work with someone like Amazon to make it easy for us to rent our own high powered server space on a game-by-game basis.

    Like I could pay $1 and run a 10-way game on a large map that doesn't bog down under heavy load because it's running on some Amazon cloud server with a lot of power to spare.

    I don't really know how this game works on the back-end or what can be done to improve it but I would really like to be able to run a large battle that doesn't bog down at the server level. If that means paying to rent my own server space to run matches on, I might be willing if setup can be made easy.

    Your math seems legit but unfortunately you are applying it incorrectly.

    For starters units having smaller ranges and being closer together isn't really equivalent to being further apart with larger ranges, there are a lot more things to consider when comparing the two:

    Unit Speed, Health, Vision etc etc etc etc etc.

    Also you are overlooking that the spherical nature of the maps mean you can be attacked or you can attack from any direction making maps smaller by reducing the area that's not available to the enemy. It completely changes the nature of a battle, making it racier and feel smaller.

    well I was wrong on:
    -math
    -not playing PA for a whlie making me forgeting the size of the planet
    -using radar (600 Radius ) as base thinking they had only 300 Radius
    -again not playing PA for a while
    so yep a 250 Radius map give a experience of a 2,5X5 FA, at least for me.... I think that I need to update something to play on bigger maps

    Uber should focus on improving the UI. Here's what we don't have:
    - Removable waypoints
    - adjustable waypoints / structure placement
    - A way of having intel on what lies behind the planet
    - The planned coalescence of blobs into "Base 1 etc" (see trailer and other posts)
